NU 12 by MAV - Messenger on Call

Sir, here's my nu12 no 10.

Thank you
Mary Antonette B. Viray

Messengerial Service on Call

Sometimes we have personal transactions which are immediate and could not be delay, often times for working people the tendency is to be on leave on that day just to bring these documents to other person immediately.  Yes, we do have the To Go, LBC, JRS Express, etc. which service turn- around time would be to send the documents the following day but that is if after office hours you were able to send those documents to them. But what if due to workload we were not able to send the documents to a courier because they are already close at 6pm, it will delay the sending of documents and if it is immediate you will take off from work the following day.  That means you'll take a leave from work though you have lots of workload in the office.

To minimize these scenarios, I thought of a messengerial on call, where in a client would just call if he needs a messenger to send the documents from Makati where he works to Ortigas where he needs to send the documents and can't just leave its work or can't go out from home.  In just minutes or so, you'll have a personal messenger who would transmit the documents to other party on the same day.  It gives more convenience to the client and no time was waste because you were able to do your work and won't be stress of the traffic that you will encounter in going there. 3.5

NU 12 by MAV - Bag handles as bracelets

Sir here's my nu12 no 9.

Thank you
Mary Antonette Viray

Detachable Bag handle used as a Bracelet (Dual purpose for tote/hand bag only)

I love bags and bracelets especially those with beads so I thought of making a bag that the handle can be interchange with different handles and at the same time these handles can also be used as bracelets and necklace. Different designs of these handles can describe your mood for the day or the mood that you want to have.  It can be design as to what feng shui suggests or just simply describe the character of the user. 4

NU 12 by MAV Malunggay Fries

Good day Sir Jorge! Attached is my NU12 no. 8.

Thank you,
Mary Antonette B. Viray

Malunggay Fries

Malunggay is full of nutrients, children, even teens to young professionals love French fries or Potato Fries.  Since from all ages, potato fries is saleable, why not create another fad for these by making malunggay like a fries but instead of slender cut, it will be of its leaf shape making it crispy. Many people are more health conscious, it can be a way to help them out also in finding another sumptuous but healthy food. 4

NU 12 by MAV - trash bin with deodorizer and insect repellant

-------

Sir, here's my nu12 no 11.

Thank you
Mary Antonette B. Viray

Trash Bin with Deodorizer and insect/ Ants repellent

We all know trash cans smells depending on what type of garbage is dispose in it and oftentimes the surrounding near it will have a foul smell too. Also if it is biodegradable, when ants smell the food, they will haunt for it and they will join forces to get their food from the trash.  So to avoid this, a trash bin with deodorizer and insect and ants repellent should be used.  This trash is ozone and environment friendly. 4

NU12 by MAV - Umbrela with MP3

Good Day Sir Jorge! Below is my NU12 no. 7

Thank you,
Mary Antonette B. Viray

Umbrella with MP3

Sometimes I find umbrella to be boring to use but I need to use it because it's raining or the heat of the sun is just so hot.  To be more hip and fun to use the umbrella maybe we could attach an MP3 player with it so that whenever the umbrella is on, the mp3 will also turn on.  And on the umbrella's handle are the selection keys, volume, and the on and off button.  It will be more fun to bring your umbrella now.  The earphone can be hidden in the handle or just use the loudspeaker instead. 3

NU 12 by MAV - belt with change pocket.

Sir my NU12 no 12.

Thank you
Mary Antonette Viray

Belt with a Secret Pocket

Nobody of course wanted to loose or lost its wallet but for extra precaution, in going to crowded area or riding a bus or a jeep or just for an emergency use, instead of putting all your money in the wallet or bag you could leave some to the secret pocket in your belt, to use in case unwanted things happen, just like holdup in a bus, or simply what if your wallet is missing nowhere to be found. When these happens, at least you know you still have something to spend to and you can still go home and there's no need to be fetch by a family member or a friend to a certain place. 3

NU12 by Cathleen Jem Caraig - remote control cushion

Hi Sir, resending my NU12 Week 7...

NU12 – Week 7
Remote Control Cushions or Silicone Case
One of the most irritating yet inevitable problems in the household is accidentally dropping the television's remote control. A remote control's life should be as long as the television. However, due to the carelessness of the users, it breaks faster. Buying another remote, like a universal remote control or ordering another remote similar to the one that is broken, is costly. Using a plastic cover or a Styrofoam to prevent breaking the remote control is no use at all. Not to mention that it does not look good in the first place.

My solution is a remote control sleeves/cushion or a remote control silicone case. These products are not yet available in the market so I thought this might make a good product for everyone especially those who love watching TV.

A remote control cushion can be made of cotton fibers like the ones used in pillows or blankets. The cushion is of a size of the remote where the remote can be placed inside to keep it safe from accidental falls. The remote control sleeves can have a similar material but it comes with a pocket wherein the codes of the universal remote control (if the customer is using a universal remote control) can be placed. This is to avoid losing the codes that comes with the universal remote control for future use.

Lastly, a remote control silicone case. The material that can be used for this product is a silicone. The silicone case is popularly used with cellphone cases and the Wii remote. The product is durable and will have different sizes to cater all remote controls.
The next time you'll drop a remote control, you'll never have to worry about breakage again. These products will save them. 4
Thank you Sir!

NU12 by BRT - Binoculars with solar panel and GPS

Dear Prof. Saguinsin,

Below herewith is my NU12 Week 12 Assignment.
Thanks and regards.
Bryan Roy Trinidad
SPENTREP - S63
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New Products/Product Improvements (Part XII)

Nature trekking, mountain climbing, bird watching or a simple love of nature is always a fun thing to do as it relieves stress and making you close to nature.
But does it comes to your mind that when you this activity, you always have to bring your camera, binoculars, and compass with your map along the way.
This brings me to an idea as to why not develop a gadget that is lightweight and portable wherein we combine the function of a camera and compass into the binocular in such that instead bringing these three items, you will bring only one.
The unique feature of this Digital Binocular with Camera and GPS Device is it has a memory card that can save all the photos and videos that you take and it is armed with GPS device that can help you locate your location.
Another feature of this device is it has back up source of power through the solar panel that is attached in the device.
To be clearer on the product that I want to develop, the following are the specifications:
  • GPS and Camera Monitor: 1.5-inch color LCD
  • Size: 156 x 98 x 64mm
  • Magnification: 14 times
  • Camera zoom: 5 times
  • Weight: about 450g (15.9 oz) (including batteries)
  • Interface: USB 3.0, Bluetooth
  • Resolution: about 14 megapixels
  • Still image size: 0.3MP (640 x 480), 3.0MP (2048 x 1536), 5.0MP (2560 x 1920), 8.0MP (3264 x 2448), 12.0MP (4032 x 3024)
  • Video: QVGA (320 x 240, 30fps), VGA (640 x 480, 20fps)
  • Format: JPEG, AVI (no audio)
  • Power: Lithium Battery and Solar Power
  • SD card and batteries not included
Overall, the Digital Binocular with Camera and GPS Device that I want to develop will not only give convenience to the consumers but it will also provide savings on time and money. 4

Cigarette Smoke Eliminator

Ever since, I am not a fan of cigarettes. I don't like how I always become a victim of second-hand smoking. They even say that second-hand smoking brings worse effects to non-smokers than to those who smoke themselves. I used to have asthma and luckily, I got rid of it when I was younger. I would not like to take the risk of developing it back again. I have nothing against the persons who do smoke though since I have friends since college who do. I just hope that people know how to handle smoking. But I want a product which I can carry with me that can eliminate the smoke I might encounter and can take in in public places. I know there are these electronics cigarettes in the market already that do not secrete smoke but a lot still stick to the usual cigars. I am thinking of something like a puff but it does the inverse. Instead of puffing out something, it absorbs the smoke around you. It has to be something handy and can be used easily and subtly. It should be easy to use in a way that once you press it, the smoke is taken in and subtle in a way that you do not need to bring it up high for everyone to see as it detects the smoke around effortlessly. With this, people like me who hate how we cannot convince others not to smoke anymore, can still get to hang out with them. I think that a product like this can also be of help to the worsening pollution problem of the country. As we all know, too much air pollution is a health risk so at least this can alleviate the probability of being too sick of the smoke belching issues and the like, as well.     4

NU 12 by MAV - Portable Utensil Sterilizer

Good day Sir Jorge! Sending you my 6th NU12.

Thank you,
Mary Antonette B. Viray

Portable Utensil Sterilizer

Nowadays even fast food chain uses silverware for utensils instead of disposable spoon and fork.  But sometimes we doubt if it is really sterilized, so we still use tissue to wipe it thinking we would somehow lessen the dirt in those utensils.  Even the glass or mug sometimes we do the same thing wiping it before using.  So to solve this problem, a portable utensil sterilizer is needed.  It's a tissue sort of a wet wipes but just made for the utensils which can be used for glasses and mugs also. 3

John Ng NU12 ideas number 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 out of 12

John Ng's last NU12

NU12 8/12 idea "Helping the financial illiterate Filipinos"
According to BSP Survey, 80% of Filipinos does not have a savings account, while 90% does not have any form of savings. What will happen to the majority in case of emergency, where will turn to? According to my personal observation, since I live near a Cockpit Arena, many Filipinos take a large part of their income to wager in the sabungan, hoping that it would double. Unfortunately, most of their aspirations get crushed in an instant.
There are different types of raffling system all over the Philippines that are very enticing, namely: Bingo outlets, Lotto outlets, Jueteng, casinos, ending, pustahan and pusoy dos. But why is this so popular in our country? Based on my observations, this is their last resort or kapit sa patalim. But the moment they lose in the gamble, they lose everything. Their very lives are destroyed. And sadly, this has long been a trend to our society and a part of our culture. The society is used to live in a life of lesser things.
Since many are into gambling, my proposal is to improve gambling's current system by automating the registration process. By applying this to the very long line of lotto outlets, the teller can register each applicant online. By means of this, both the line and the time needed for executing the transaction would be cut short.
My catch is that, for each registering client or buyer of a lotto ticket, 50% of the amount, maybe less or maybe more will go to their savings, and the remaining will go to gambling. However, this should be unknown to the gambler since this will be a sort of investing tool. Since, making a lotto business is a very good business because it's only a one sided-win situation, and nobody really knows who win. The money that has been saved could be used in creating and supporting a rehabilitation center that would help them become literate. It can also be a form of saving to teach them how to utilize money wisely. 3

NU12 9/12 idea (maximizing the child's potentials)
In China, when a baby is born, as early as childhood, they already introduce the child into sports or other activities like arts, literature, science and etc... With this type of method, the child would know his likes and maximize his time as early as his childhood and further develop his skill.
With this method, we can fully utilize our people skills. As early as his childhood, if the kid has no potential in certain area, he needs to go to other areas where the child can progress. This will be a long-term result. But if our government would invest in this idea,  we can have a great future ahead of us.

NU12 10/12 idea (Promotion/Demotion Law)
I worked in a privatized company that had been a government company.  One thing I notice is what we call a "government mentality." In here, politics is very strong, the employees are very lousy and all the negative habits that would result into unproductive time are very rampant. One way that the new management did is the right-sizing method. With this method, all the unproductive employees are cut-off, and new young employees replaced them with cheaper wages and more productive.
The problem I see here is that since this have evolve into a new generation of workplace, the managers have a problem. They become managers by accident since the old once are being replaced. The new managers are so inexperience in handling people.
My suggestion is to train the managers, or at least they should have a degree like MBA before they can get promoted/raise. What happens is when a manager gets the position, even though he is un-experienced, he'll never give up the position. Demotion also should be an option to managers that are not performing well. And yearly grading should be followed. The grading here has a big problem. You grade your own self. This needs improvement since the grading system is bias and one-sided. The people under the manager should grade their manager, and the manager should grade his employees. With this we can improve ourselves and the image of the company.
There should be a Philippine law to standardize the promotion/demotion in a company.  With this, we can contribute a growth to our economy.

NU12 11/12 idea (Routing map for PUV using Google Map)
Since there is already traffic.com where we can view the traffic areas from selected major roads real-time, we can use the latest technology to improve our mapping system. This has become so convenient that we can view it in our handheld devices.
I suggest an online site with maps showing the different routes of PUVs. Thru this, we can view which one can take us to our destination. It would become easier for commuters to travel and consider what possible combinations of transportation to use in order to arrive at the destination faster and less costly.4

NU12 12/12 idea (Spending Habits)
In my company, we sell water. We release 2000mld of water a day, and collect only 40% of the revenue. Now where does the 60% go? We call it the non-revenue water or NRW. It is a water loss due to illegal connection, leaks in pipes and other physical problems.  Since we know the 60% losses, we target to trim it down yearly to increase our revenue.
We believe in the famous saying "you can't control what you can't measure." You know the numbers, you know the facts, now you control or limit the problem to reduce the losses.
In our daily lives, how much do we earn? Is our spending greater than our income? If so, then we are at a loss. If our spending is lesser compared to income, then we are saving.
A simple suggestion is to monitor our spending habit by collecting our receipts, and tracking it in our handheld devices, since technology now have become cheap and available to everyone and anyone. With this, we can now monitor and see our behaviour towards our impulsiveness. We need not a tremendous amount of effort to do this, but we need a tremendous amount of discipline to do this.
At the end of the day, we can ask ourselves, why did we buy this useless thing? And we can reflect to improve our lifestyle and spending habits.

NU12 13/12 idea (nuideashare.blogspot.com & profjorgeentrep-jorge.blogspot.com)
Respectfully, Sir, it is not my intention to discriminate or judge or give any bad connotation to your websites. This is only for the sole purpose of having an idea. I may be right, I may be wrong. But I hope this could help.
Now, honestly, tell me classmates, with just one glance - what do we notice in our Prof's BlogSpot? It is much disorganized.  What I mean is all the references are reflected on the left side of the bar. If we scroll our mouse, we see a long way down to browse for our name.
My suggestion is to categorize each topic in a folder-structure-style. For example, you choose ENTREP class; under that you can view all the students' name. Name of HEROES, events and places categorized into folders.  Through this, we can easily sort, filter and browse ideas based on dates, file size, uploaders and so on.
Furthermore, we can have memberships in the blog. This will improve the interface and eliminate the emailing system and approval process. There are numerous freemium software – Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, etc. – all have the capability of organizing blogs. Other features are the creation of polls, forums, chat (real-time like facebook) and other interactive freemium applications.
Lastly, another benefit of this is the merging of two blog websites into one. Thus, students will not get confused as to where they should upload the assignment.  < thanks for the comments.  As I have said I became a netizen a year ago and I am learning.  Just moving away from paper to paperless.  I will find time to organize the labels.  Wordpress simply organizes labels into large groups, which blogger can do. The blog also has a search tool.  There were suggested topics in the NU 12 which could be tackled.  The other supposed submitted assignments are not here.>

Mood-Detecting Cameras (NU12 Paper #11 by RT)

Good evening Sir!

NU12 paper #11 below :)

Thanks and Regards,
Risha

MOOD-DETECTING CAMERAS

With the propagation of digital cameras and their greater affordability, people are taking these cameras everywhere and clicking left and right. It's so convenient since no camera film is wasted anymore. The problem with this though is a lot of us become victims of getting our photos taken candidly or group shots where not everyone isn't ready yet.

The technology of cameras has gone so far. From the manual camera we now have digital cameras that have countless features such as red eye reduction, instant lomography effects and now even with cloud features.

So it's possible that the future of cameras include a mood-detecting feature. In the most basic of form, it's just like an autofocus feature where it has face detection. But taking it a step further, it detects the following:
1.       It detects the iris of the people in the picture if they're all facing the camera lens, before taking the picture.
2.       It senses the mood of the people if they want their picture or not. If it senses that the person is unaware or doesn't want their picture taken, then the camera won't allow the picture to be taken. (In the future, government can impose this camera feature to all so that paparazzi won't continuously hound celebrities and obstruct rights to privacy.)
With this camera feature, everyone will be photo-ready or will no longer have awkward photos taken.3.5

NU Idea - Talking ackup sensors with distance indicators

Hi Sir

NU Idea
Backup Sensors

Today, there are a lot of automobiles out on the street.  This results in heavy traffic everyday everywhere you go.  Of course there would also be accidents from one vehicle hitting another vehicle, sideswiping, a vehicle hitting a structure, or worse a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.  What I cannot accept are those vehicular accidents that are considered as non-driving accidents.  These are accidents that can happen at home in your garage, or in the parking lot of the mall.  You might be asking how such accidents can happen.

Usually, it is lady drivers who are having difficulty in parking their cars.  They do not park well (overlapping the 2 lines) or it takes them forever just to extract their vehicle from the parking slot resulting in them hitting a wall or another car.

My suggestion for this would be installing a backup sensor for your vehicle.  These sensors would beep whenever you are about to back into a solid structure like a wall or another car.  Some car manufacturers already have these but not all and they do not have the type where you actually see the rearview on a screen complete with distance from the wall and voice prompt.  Here's how it works.

Imagine you're going to the mall and the only parking space available is one that requires you to park parallel between 2 other cars.  This is the type of parking most people have difficulty with.  Some take forever just to fit their car in the slot.  With the backup sensor, you would be able to not only properly park your car but there will be a voice prompt and a screen that would show you how far you are from the car behind you.  It gives voice prompts like "1.8 meter", "0.5 meter" which gives you a clear idea on the distance of the car behind you.  Aside from that you also have a color coding on the screen (green if the other car is more than 2 meters behind, yellow if it is within 1 meter and red if it is less than 1 meter behind).

This would help reduce parking accidents as well as make parking more convenient for all motorists.  Installation is also fast and easy. 3

Thank you

NU Idea by Cristina Krastle Valderas - Bar Code ID system at AGSB

Hi Sir,

NU Idea
AGSB ID system

Identification card or most commonly know as ID, is being used to contain the personal information of a person and importantly, part of security precaution of a building, establishment, school and offices.
In Ateneo Graduate School of Business (AGSB), students are required to wear their ID at all times when inside the school premises. Security guards are inspecting each student if they are wearing an ID upon entering the school. As long as they see that you have an ID around your neck or clipped in your chest, you can get inside the building without any problem. But if we observed, they are not really checking if what you are wearing is an AGSB ID. They will not also know if you are enrolled or not for that trimester or school year. So there is no proper identification on the person entering the school premises. On this case, there is a possibility that an intruder can get inside the school.
As part of prevention and security, AGSB can use the entrance facility we are using inside the library. To enter the building, the student or faculty will need to tap his/her ID on the device. With the help of the barcode, it will identify the person. After validating, that is the only time it will slide open. For the alumni, they can apply for an ID which will have the barcode for them to enter the premises. But for visitors or student not enrolled for the school year or trimester, they have to present a valid identification at the security, who will give them access/entry.

Thank you.3

NU 12 by Cathleen Jem Caraig - What pisses you off at the mall?

NU12 – Week 9
What pisses you off at the mall?

Sometimes, I don't have a whole day to go to the mall and shop for the clothes, accessories and shoes that I really want. Big malls especially those malls which are linked with another mall are the hardest to figure out. Most of the time, I get lost looking for the stores I'm looking for and I end up in the same spot where I first came. That is both exhausting and time consuming. Also, if ever I'm lucky to find the items I'm looking for, they're out of stock most of the time or the only piece available is the one on display.

Since I am almost always online, I suggest that these malls produce an app for smart phones or a website which shows where the stores are located through a map. It is more helpful if there is a virtual tour of the mall available in the app or website. Also, it would be a good invention if they provide pictures of items from each store that can be searched through that app (or website). It would also be helpful if I can upload a picture of clothes, accessories or shoes that I would like to search in the mall and that app/website can suggest pictures of clothes, accessories or shoes similar to what I'm looking for. The app will also provide what stores the suggested pictures can be found. Also, I would suggest that stores can update their stocks in that app/website giving the customers a heads up if their items are on sale, almost gone (last piece items) or new arrivals. 3
Thank you sir!

NU12 - by CJC - Activity area at the subdivision

NU12 – Week 6
"WHAT PISSES YOU OFF AT THE NEIGHBORHOOD? WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?"
Description of my neighbourhood
I grew up in a village where I only have a few friends because most people my age were either not allowed to go outside of their houses or just doesn't want to make friends. What pisses me off at our neighborhood is the lack of activities where the neighbors are supposed to get to know each other. The only activity I know in the village is the Christmas party every year. Recently, the officers of the subdivision started an annual Halloween Trick or Treat parade but it's open to outsiders. Since my nephews moved to Singapore, we didn't participate with this event anymore.
A childhood friend once told me that ever since the chapel was built inside the subdivision, the neighbourhood seems to lose its unity forming a group of churchgoers and different groups of people with other religions or simply workaholic people who doesn't have time socializing with others. This is just wrong.
Suggestions
The village has a nice clubhouse wherein facilities like an activity area, swimming pool, basketball court, playground and tennis court is available to residents and outsiders. What I suggest is to use these facilities for events such as tennis competitions, swimming competitions and the like. Moreover, I would like to suggest having a quarterly or annual Ukay-ukay or Tiangge at the activity area where residents can mingle with others and may also find treasure in other people's junk? Also, a mini night market will liven up the night life in our village featuring homemade delicacies or specialties of each neighbor. Also, how about putting an Ad board where residents who happen to be employers of companies can recruit jobseekers from the interested applicants inside the village.3

NU Idea by Cristina Krastle Valderas - Fire Alarm in every Building

Hi Sir,

NU Idea
Fire Alarm Installation

Huge fires cause the loss of many houses, business and even lives. This can be prevented or the effect can be minimized if it was reported immediately to fire stations and help was given.
Last week at the Malolos Public Market in Bulacan, people, vendors and some stores are panicking because there was an electrical failure in one of the big supermarket in the area. It took sometime before someone called the fire station and report what was happening. It started at the 3rd floor of the building where their stocks and inventories were placed. If the fire was not put down immediately, it can include even the nearby stores which will be a much bigger loss.
To avoid such cases, a fire alarm can be installed in each house, school and establishment. This will be connected to fire stations. Once there is a fire, instead of waiting for someone to report what was happening, the person who owns the building will just pull the lever which will immediately send an alarm to the station, indicating the exact address of the incident. The installation of such device should be mandatory and a requirement of the municipality as part of their fire prevention program. This device should also be protected from kids playing with it, that it should be sealed or covered but can be removed easily by adults. 4

Thank you.

NU Idea by Cristina Krastle Valderas -Alcohol Consumption Counter in Cars and MC

Hi Sir,

NU Idea
Alcohol Consumption Counter

One of the leading causes of death in the Philippines is vehicular accident. It can be caused by over speeding, road defects, fault of the driver, over loading and I think the most common is driving under the influence of alcohol.
Driving under the influence of alcohol can be prevented by having an alcohol consumption counter attached into the steering wheel. In the Philippines, a person is allowed to drive with up to 0.05 Blood Alcohol Concentration or approximately 2 standard drinks. Instead of blood, it will be measured with the use of sweat at the palm of the driver. If it determined that the person consumed more than the allowable consumption, the steering wheel will not work.
It will also be applicable to motorcycles, as we also have an increasing numbers of accidents involving it. The alcohol counter will be placed in the motorcycle grips. 4

Thank you.

NU Idea by Cristina Krastle Valderas Hot and Cold Battery Powered Tumbler

Hi Sir,

NU Idea
Water Tumbler - Hot/Cold

Water tumblers are becoming popular nowadays not just for travelers but almost for everybody. It is very convenient to bring anywhere with its colorful and customized designs. For travelers, they can be assured of a safe drink and can be refill by any beverage they want. In the office, you don't have to worry about spilling liquids to your paper, gadget or other things on your table because it is tightly sealed. It can also keep the drink temperature much longer than the usual. For example, if you put hot beverage, your drink will still be warm after 15 minutes or so, compared of putting it in a mug. Same if you put a cold beverage.
But for very busy people, they sometimes forget that they have a hot coffee or juice waiting to be finished. Because of that, we can add a feature which will be a combination of a water heater and a water dispenser. There will be a switch located on the side of the tumbler that you just have to slide if you want your drink to become hot or cold. If you want it hot, like in a water heater, it has a small metal inside to boil the water. For cold, just like how it does in a water dispenser. The only difference is it is battery operated so you don't need to look for an electric outlet just to use the feature. It will also be more useful for travelers or those who go hiking; they can easily have hot or cold water anytime they want. 4

Thank you.

Nu12 - by CJC - New Spending Habits

NU 12 – Week 5
NEW SPENDING HABITS / ROUTINE
Being a full time student, I have no income generating activities. It is a hard task managing what is left from my former work's savings. How do I survive? Fortunately, my mother gives me an amount of cash to survive a day at school. That's the only income I'm getting ever since I resigned from my work. On the other hand, I haven't been productive in the past two years. I have always been at home watching the television, reading a book or surfing the internet. Unhealthy, isn't it? How do I break this chain? How do I manage the little money I have in my wallet?    <be engaged in  a sideline)

1. Set Long Term Goals
Since I'm in my 20s, I should be able to distinguish my long term goals already. Setting goals with their appropriate dates to make sure I can accomplish everything in time. Deadlines will be helpful since these will motivate me to meet my long term goals. But how do I do these things if I still don't know what I want to do with my life? Before everything else, I should know what I enjoy doing and where I'm really good at.

2. Stop/Control Impulsive Shopping
If setting my long term goals isn't enough, I should make a list of what matters the most at the moment. One thing I really love to do is shopping. But since I have no income nowadays, I should know that this activity should not be my priority. Instead, if I organize my closet habitually I know I can find a lot of clothes that still fits me and I wouldn't need to shop for clothes until whenever.

3. Budget my allowance
Since I only get allowance depending on how many days I go to school, it's really difficult to save money. However, if I can think of other ways so that I can minimize my expenses like bringing "baon" or choosing meals/snacks that are budget friendly then I can save a bit from my allowance.

4. Use Credit Card for REAL Emergencies – not when I see cute shoes or books or clothes
When I was in college, my mom gave me an extension of her credit card for emergency use but there are times when I can't help but swipe that card when I go inside a bookstore or a boutique. This must be hard to do but I really need to start over and use the CC for its real purpose.

5. Stop Checking Facebook for awhile. Or limit checking of Facebook into 2 hours per day.
Limiting the use of Facebook and other social networking sites does not affect my budgeting. However, these social networking sites have been the means of being unproductive and/or procrastination. By limiting myself to use these will motivate me to go out and see what's outside the four corners of my house. These activities outside may also help me form an idea of a business or something that will keep me productive.

6. Read More Books
I am a fan of books, preferably fiction, but lately I've been having a hard time finishing a book. I've so many unread books at home and because I am in tight budget I should keep myself from buying a new book until I finished all my pending books at home. By reading these books, I can also get a business idea out of them.     <many free e books are available..  I saved a bundle by subscribing to free ebooks>

7. Monitor / Create an Inventory of my things
One of the ways to get organized is to monitor my own things. I used to have an inventory of my books written in a yellow pad but didn't continue. So to help myself by monitoring my own things, why not create an inventory? Using the MS Excel, I can monitor my books, clothes, accessories, etc. to know how many I have and/or who borrowed my things so I'll know where to find them when I need them. This is also a good practice for the future. 3.5
Thank you sir!

New Products/Product Improvements (Part VIII)

Visualize the scene, you're at your desk during a meeting or at school listening to the lectures of the professor and there are lots and lots of notes that needs to be taking down but the problem is you are too slow to write them down to your notes.
This brings me to an idea as why not develop a ball pen with MP4 voice recorder capability that will record all the lectures and conversation during meetings.

A unique feature of this ball pen is that it serves a triple purpose; writing, recording and listening, and it is powered by lithium battery that can be charged through USB and can record 32G worth of data.

To be clearer on the product that I want to develop, the following are the specifications:
  • Size: 14 x 146mm (0.6 x 5.7")
  • Weight: 44g (1.6 oz)
  • OS: Windows XP / Vista / 7
  • Power: Lithium Battery
  • It has a USB 3.0 port which can transfer the recorded data in a laptop or desktop
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Functions: pen, audio recording, play

Overall, the MP4 Pen Voice Recorder Pen that I want to develop will not only gives convenience to the consumers but it will also provide savings on time and money. 4

Did You Know...

...  that an inexpensive nutritional supplement called L-Carnosine is being hailed as by integrative doctors—including Dr. Oz—as the possible "end of old age?"

The nutrient L-Carnosine may come closer to an anti-aging magic bullet than anything else yet discovered.  Scientists believe L-Carnosine reverses aging at both the system and organ level, with a dramatic effect on energy ... health ... clarity of thinking ... and appearance of the skin and hair.

The highly regarded and wildly popular Dr. Mehmet Oz called L-Carnosine an "anti-aging miracle."

How L-Carnosine Stops the Root Cause of Aging

To understand the astonishing power of L-Carnosine, it helps to understand a primary cause of aging: the Hayflick Limit.

The Hayflick Limit (named after the doctor who discovered it about 40 years ago) refers to how our cells can divide only a limited number of times during our lives.

By early adulthood, our cells overall have used up half of their lifetime divisions.  By mid-life, our cells have only about 20-39% of their total divisions left.

When cells stop dividing, they enter a state called "senescence"—the final step before death.  Senescent cells are alive, but can no longer divide.  They show all the unwanted signs of old age (for example, skin wrinkles).  As cells near senescence, they are much more susceptible to ...
    Irregular forms
    Distorted appearances
    Declining functionality
    Cancer

Until recently, all this was thought to be irreversible.

L-Carnosine: The Miracle Substance that Stops Senescence and Rolls Back Time

L-Carnosine is a naturally occurring combination of two amino acids, alanine and histidine.  L-Carnosine levels in our body pare directly related to the length and quality of our lives.  But L-Carnosine levels plummet as we age.  That's why Dr. Oz and others believe that supplementing with L-Carnosine may be one of the most powerful ways to roll back time.  Science supports this claim.

An astonishing series of experiments in Australia proved that L-Carnosine rejuvenates aging cells.  Australian researchers transferred senescent cells to a culture medium containing L-Carnosine.  The transferred cells showed ...

    A rejuvenated appearance
    An enhanced capacity to divide

L-Carnosine Extends Cell Life

When researchers took "old" cells (that had already gone through 55 divisions) and transferred them to an L-Carnosine medium, the cells survived up to 70 more divisions.  In contrast, cells not transferred to the L-Carnosine survived only 57 to 61 divisions—a 25% increase!

Even more impressive, cell life span increased 300%!  The cells transferred to the L-Carnosine medium lived 413 days, while the other cells lived only 126-139 days.

Extended Life Expectancy

In a new Russian study on mice, those given L-Carnosine were twice as likely to reach their maximum lifespan as the others.

L-Carnosine also made the mice look younger.  A whopping 44% of the mice given L-Carnosine had younger, glossier looking coats in old age—compared to only 5% of the untreated mice!  That's a 900% better chance of looking younger.

Other proven anti-aging benefits of L-Carnosine include ...

  • Feeling Younger: Only 9% of the untreated mice behaved youthfully in old age, while 58% of the L-Carnosine mice stayed spry—a 600% improvement!
  • Super Antioxidant: L-Carnosine is one of the most powerful antioxidants on Earth.
  • Preventing Alzheimer's: L-Carnosine can reduce or prevent cell damage caused by beta amyloid—a major Alzheimer's risk factor because it damages nerves and arteries in the brain.

How to Use L-Carnosine

L-Carnosine is widely available at health food stores and online.  Most experts agree that different people need different amounts of L-Carnosine.  According to Jon Barron, founder of Baseline of Health Foundation, "The older you get, the more you need.  If you eat a mostly vegetarian diet, you need more.  If you're diabetic, or just have trouble with blood sugar, you need more.  I think most people will do best on 500-750mg a day."

How to Eliminate Chronic Disease and Reduce
Anxiety with This Simple Technique

Discover the Breakthrough Brain Technology
Used by Over 1,000,000 People in 193 Countries!

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 85% of all disease is rooted in our emotions.

Anxiety, anger, depression, stress—these negative, turbulent feelings do much more than disturb our mental equilibrium; they plant the seeds for physical disease, and then nurture those kernels into chronic, often fatal illnesses.

The National Cancer Institute says that stress can increase your risk of obesity, heart disease, depression, cancer and a host of other health problems.  Stress exerts such a powerful influence that it can change the shape of your blood cells, transforming a perfectly round, smooth, healthy cell into a curled up, misshapen, dysfunctional mess.  And that's the best-case scenario, as chronic stress can obliterate cells altogether!

With rising rates of heart disease and cancer, the need to more effectively manage our stress and anxiety becomes more important than ever.  The answer doesn't lie in expensive doctor visits or antidepressant drugs that are riddled with dangerous side effects.  You can harness your stress and emotions once and for all by implementing a very easy-to-use meditation system.

Meditation for the Lazy Man

For many of us, meditation is easier said than done.  Turning off mind-chatter, or even just turning down the volume, takes years of diligent practice.  Devoting 2 to 5 hours a day, every day of the week, isn't desirous or feasible for those living in a fast-paced society.

It's much easier to pop a pill or count down from 10.  That may be the case with traditional meditation practices, but researchers have developed a powerful scientific audio technology that does all the heavy lifting for you.

You don't need to chant mantras in a foreign tongue or repeat a specific intention over and over again for hours.  All you need to do is put on some headphones, push the play button, and sit back and relax while a blend of soothing sounds does the work for you.

You will experience the benefits of meditation almost immediately, pushing you light years ahead of other meditation practitioners and putting you on par with Zen monks who have devoted their entire lives to stillness.

And stress?  You can say goodbye to that for good!

The Proven Benefits of Meditation

Over 1000 medical studies affirm that meditation is the most potent way to reduce stress.  The Mayo Clinic maintains that meditation has been scientifically proven to alleviate physical conditions such as...

  • Allergies
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Asthma
  • Binge eating
  • Cancer
  • Depression

  • Fatigue
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Pain
  • Sleep problems
  • Substance abuse

And let's not forget that meditation helps you live a longer, higher-quality life, improves your relationships, and contributes to sharper mental acuity.

A recent study published in the journal, Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, found that people who meditated for 30 minutes a day changed the amount of gray matter in specific areas of the brain.  MRI scans showed an increase in the amount of gray matter in the hippocampus, an area of the brain responsible for learning and memory, and a decrease in the amount of gray matter in the amygdala, an area of the brain linked to anxiety and stress.

A 2009 study demonstrated that mediation significantly reduced blood pressure and cut patients' risk of heart attack, stroke or death by 50%, and a 2007 study found that meditation dramatically increased an individual's ability to concentrate.

Sock it to Stress Once and for All

Stress's henchman is the hormone, cortisol.  When you enter a stress-induced state, cortisol floods your system.  Elevated cortisol levels cause blood pressure and blood sugar levels to rise, block bone and collagen formation, deplete your immune system, decrease your number of functioning brain cells, and much more.

Meditation helps you deal with stress more effectively because it lowers cortisol and other harmful stress chemicals that promote physical and emotional imbalance.  As it decreases your production of stress hormones, it stimulates the production of pleasurable brain chemicals proven to enhance longevity and well-being.

Be Part of the Genius Elite

What do Einstein, Edison and Mozart have in common?  They are part of the 1/10 of 1% of humans that have free-flowing communication between the right and left hemispheres of their brains.  They enjoy what scientists call "whole-brain functioning," a state of mind in which the brain performs at its most optimum, demonstrating heightened intelligence and creativity.

Meditation makes this level of "genius" much more attainable, as it has been proven to create new and accessible neural pathways between the brain hemispheres, balancing the brain and actively encouraging the high performance state of whole-brain functioning.

Meditation takes us deep into the recesses of our brain, where addictive emotional patterns such as fear, anxiety, self-sabotage and substance abuse dwell.  Meditation bypasses these reactive habits, letting them fall away for good, in effect reprogramming our emotional temperature to a healthy 98.6°.  A consistent meditation practice helps you live a happier, more productive life full of compassion and ease.

Cutting Edge Science of the New Millennium

If the idea of sitting in silence and stilling your thoughts overwhelms you, fear no more.  Researchers have developed a powerful audio technology that, when placed inaudibly underneath music and peaceful environmental sounds, fosters a nurturing atmosphere for your nervous system, activating boundless changes in your brain and pushing the limits of your nervous system, thereby expanding your ability to deal with situations, people and events that previously triggered anxiety and stress.

The Menninger Clinic originally explored this technology in the 1970s.  Scientists were able to determine the brain patterns stimulated during deep meditation.  A researcher at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York figured out how to induce those same meditative brain patterns simply by using sound.

Nearly 40 years later, and the scientific audio technology available has been improved and fine-tuned dramatically, guaranteeing...

Dramatically improved mental, emotional and spiritual health
Real and constant happiness in your life, regardless of your past
            or present circumstances
Improved creativity, intelligence and mental functioning
Significantly improved sense of well-being and inner peace
Success in the world, along with the personal satisfaction and
            sense of fulfillment

Now you can join the 1,000,000 people already experiencing stress-free, physically and emotionally abundant lives with an easy-to-use, enjoyable meditation practice.  Click here to watch this video on how to end your stress-induced medical problems with this fascinating brain technology that produces health, anti-aging and longevity benefits.
