What Pisses You Off in Malls?

Malls are filled with fastfood restaurants. Sometimes, these fastfood chains can be packed with people, especially during payday weekends and holidays. This results to long queues. I usually don't mind long lines but if further delays are caused by incompetent crew and confused customers (customers who don't know what they want), it makes my patience run out.
To address this problem, fastfood restaurants may want to put up self-service terminals for their orders. These terminals should be user-friendly and must have the menu, complete with photos, prices, and automatically computes the order. They should be wired to the cooking area so that uncommon orders could be prepared ahead and lessen the waiting time. The terminals should be able to print the order to make it easy for the cashier to "punch". Also it would be more efficient if these terminals are touch-screen and the printed orders have bar codes, which will be scanned by the cashier for instant verification. They should also have a separate cashier for terminal users if possible. Hopefully, this kind of ordering process also becomes available in their websites so that when people crave for specific meals, they could print their orders at home and hand them over to the cashier upon arrival. 4

Nu 6 - New Spending Habits - Armando Coloma Jr.

NEW SPENDING HABITS

In order to better save money is to monitor spending. Prioritizing needs and limiting wants is an overused cliché.
Practicality is the key to have better spending habits. For example, generic medicines are cheap, while those made by popular pharmaceutical companies are far more expensive, even if they have the same strength. Go for generic.
Buy by the bulk. The "tingi" practice actually costs more than buying in large quantities. Take advantage of the discounts.
Sometimes, you can't help but buy on the spot when strolling at the mall. To minimize impulsive buying, leave your credit card/s at home and bring just enough cash for what you need to purchase.
It's ok to splurge once in a while, but only when you have enough savings and all the necessities have been prioritized, and payables have been settled.
Avoid using credit cards as much as possible. If you are after the points (miles, etc.) make sure you set the payment aside, and pay at the bank ahead of the bill. Remember, spending money you haven't earned yet is a no-no!
List all the monthly expenses and allocate your income. Having knowledge of the spendings will help you be wiser in handling money.
Some people like to own status symbols, such as expensive cell phones, cars, etc. to have the image of "can afford." This is OK, except when these are bought just to show off, especially when you have neglected other important things for that. Living beyond means as a way of life will take its toll sooner or later. 3

Nu 6 - New Product - AC

Plug-it Tumbler

Some thermal tumblers are made of plastic, while others are made of metal. Since they are thermal, they keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. But what if you need your coffee until later, but no water dispenser is available, and your coffee is getting cold? A good example is travelling at night going to the province where convenience stores are scarce.
Hopefully, appliance manufacturers could come up with an electric tumbler that can be reheated by just plugging. Perhaps a reheating "station" is required, one that could use a universal charger such as those of cellphones'.  Better yet, the electric components of the tumbler are all inside the bottom of the mug with only the charger slot exposed but is covered by an air-tight plastic seal with a rubber lining, similar to those of the underwater cameras'. This way, the mug is waterproof and is dishwasher safe. To add convenience and portability, the tumbler can be plugged into the car lighter slot.
To prevent burns and scalding, the tumbler will automatically turn itself off after a certain period of time. The handle and the lid are all made of hard plastic that would not melt below the specific temperature that is enough to reheat the liquid inside. 3

Nu 6 - What Pisses You Off in the Neighborhood? AC - Armando Coloma Jr.

Our neighborhood is a group of subdivisions at the boundary of Sta. Rosa and Cabuyao. The subdivision where we live in was originally for Meralco employees. This connotes that it is not for the high society, and the facilities are ordinary. No stickers are required for any vehicle to enter. Anyone can enter and exit any subdivision in the area.  There is even a pathway at the rear end of the adjacent subdivision where squatters use to have access in the neighborhood. These are the reasons why there are many incidences of robbery. This is one of the things that piss me off in the neighborhood.
Security is relatively low. There are many outsiders with free access. Bystanders at the entrance sometimes create scenes. Some suspected drug addicts throw stones and/bottles into the yard of random homeowners. Barangay tanods are present at night but only until 2:00am.
Also, some parts of the street are rough and it takes years before they get repaired.  Some people blame our trucks for the damage.
Finally, the noise of some neighbors could not be controlled. To be able to control this, there should be a stricter reinforcement of laws, like in other countries where you can report them to the police and the police actually make them stop. The Filipino trait of holding grudges (pagtatanim ng sama ng loob) makes this more difficult.
Security should be tightened in order to lessen robberies and other crimes. Car stickers should be required for homeowners, while outsiders should have their ID left at the guardhouse to be granted entry. Fines should be imposed for violators to have funds for security and garbage collection. 3

NEW BUSINESS IDEA

Creation of Music Videos for Unsigned Bands

Many aspiring musicians want to become professionals and be famous, but the competition is just too stiff. Talent scouts maybe at the wrong place at the wrong time, making discovery difficult. Furthermore, many producers are hesitant to invest in newcomers. The social network, MySpace, was somehow designed to promote these aspiring artists, but is not very popular in the Philippines. Furthermore, it became way less popular when Facebook arrived. YouTube is one of the video websites that has survived and grew bigger and stronger during the changing times, and can be used to help promote these aspiring artists' music and talents.
To help these musicians get discovered and have their big break, I have thought of a small company that puts their talent on display through the YouTube and Facebook. To do this, this company should be able to help them secure intellectual property rights to avoid any unlawful claims of original compositions from other artists. Next, the company would create simple music videos of their songs. The price and quality of the videos depend on their budget, but knowing that they are unsigned bands, it is safe to assume that their budget is limited, so the price would be generally less expensive. The company would also require the band to post several live performances so that talent scouts could watch them at their convenient time, without actually having to travel to the gig spot. This will also allow the scouts and/or producers to assess the bands' live performance and compare it to recordings.
Posting their videos on YouTube would allow them and their friends to "share" through Facebook, thus helping them become popular. Ratings and comments in the social networks will also help in assessing the artists' potential. 3

Blueberries can Beat Aging?

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

It has been found out in experimental animals that feeding them with blueberries can prevent symptoms of ageing.  It would seem that flavinoids from blueberries does the trick.

It is good that I take blueberry juice together with some noni juice regularly.  Do why dont you.  Flavinoids is present in coffee.  So take more coffeee.

What can Prevent Migraine Attacks?

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

Many people have periodic migraine attacks.  This could be to several factors:   low magnesium levels, excitement from lights and other external factors low energy, nausea, high glutamate levels, inflammatory levels.

The high glutamate levels is due to our diet.  This can be from MSG and is very common when eating in Chinese restaurant. They routinely add MSG to make food taste better.  This also found in natural food coloring and food ingredients as tomato paste, parmesan cheese, broth, soy  (that is why soy diet can be bad for your migraine).  This is one way of reducing migraine attack.

The other way is to increase the magnesium level.  But taking in magnesium has the tendency to give you diarrhea.  Dr.  Blayblock in this link, gives you tips on how to beat migraine.

New Ideas from the Bangkok Travel

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

I simply posted the pictures of the Bangkok experience.  But I think without going explicit, the posts will be useless.

Here are some ideas proposed regarding the Bangkok travel:

Let us like the rest of the world focus on looking at the world as the market;  not only teh local buyers or tourists, or simply be resellers of China HK or US products;  let us market to tourists and the world.

For my hometown:

l.  Let us make a lakeview project where there are attractions.  I think we have started.  The idea is not for art sake alone but to give employment or permanent place where our locals can sell their goods:

      l.  Restaurant,

      2.  Food cart  vendors,

       3.  Art galleries

       4.  Selling of artefacts

2.   Tie up casino tours with:

       l.  High way girlie bars

      2.  Food trips to well known restaurants

     3.  Souvenir seller

3.  Trips to art galleries:

    l.  Have other food and artefact vendors

    2.  Tie up trips with lunch or snacks so that we take in more money from the tours

    3.  Charge parking from the bus or establish parking lots on empty lots:  50/50 with munisipyo

FOOD VENDORS: (Whether static or cart informal vendors)
    l.  Practice hygiene  (clean always)

    2.  Teach them good food presentation and processing of food:

For fresh fruits:   pack in crushed ice

peel show the fruit in sealed glass case (not plastic only)

teach the vendor artistic cutting slicing for more value added

For instance:     buko vendors:     remove the husks before hand, pack in crushed ice

Food Stalls at C6 Near Napindan Channel:   Variety of Good Food, but is Hygiene OK?

Nice Lake View, how about food presentation?

Malls:

l.   Let a thousand flowers blow.  Encourage more vendors

2.  Give priority to those who will market new and local products;  lower tiers ang  traders HK or Bangkok resellers.

3.  Encourage those who can sell locally and to the world

4.  Encourage them on good merchandising:   colors, being attractive; use aida

Cultural shows:

Oftentimes, malls hire the Philharmonics on special occasions or to attract customers

Or cultural shows are done by Cultural Center for Manilas 500/

Let is tie up our cultural shows with tourists or packages. and buffet.

Let us not have cultural shows for art alone

I think in my hometown, considering the number of bands and galleries, it can have a project for a small cultural center where our local talents can show their stuff.

Our dancers and singers should not be for Japan only

Lakeview cruise.

We can not have  river cruise in Napindan or Pasig River because the river sucks;   but we can have one like in Loboc or Bangkok;  the lakeview of Cardona and Binangonan, Angono and Taytay.  The fishpens will not be affected.  But many of our seafarers and cooks may prefer working there rather than ocean going cruise that sink.

Will DOST, DOT, DTI guys read this (paging Usec Tito Panlillo)  Since they are geniuses, they will be too good to bend down to this blogs)

Since these are unsolicited and the ideas of the guys, no one will read or listen?

Re: NU 6: by RG Varible Insurance premium

VARIABLE INSURANCE PREMIUM
Insurance premiums in the Philippines are calculated by certain percentages and are common/fixed regardless of the profile of the entity being insured.
In other countries like the U.S., individuals are assessed based on their risk levels ( first time availer pays higher premium than that of a person with previous availments and without accidents/claims).
It will be valuable if same principle can be applied here in the Philippines because you will be rewarding those people who operates safely (i.e. vehicle owners, factories, etc.) and at the same time penalizing those who are not.
This can be economically viable and at the same time promotes safety, health and environmental awareness to the society. 3

Re: NU ideas: by RG, Transistion glasses

ADJUSTABLE GRADE FOR EYEGLASSES
Having a poor eyesight is not only frustrating and inconvenient but is also very costly. Imagine spending thousand of pesos every year on lenses because of deteriorating vision.
For those who are afraid of lasik surgery and who insistently wear eyeglasses, a technology that can produce this type of eyewear can be very valuable.
Manufacturers have already revolutionized this market by creating the transitions where an eyeglass can be both a correction lens and a sunglass at the same time.
In this case, a lens can be manufactured which can be adjusted on a certain range for example from -1.0 to -2.0 with increments of -0.25. This way, you can use your eyeglasses for a couple of years longer than those of the ordinary ones. 3

RE: NU6 by MR, Various, GPS,

Hi Prof,

Below are my NU6 ideas:

1.       GPS Navigation systems in public buses/jeeps
These will be used to keep track of:
a.          speeding violations
b.         pick-up and drop-off at correct stations
c.          use of correct route
d.         abandoned/overstaying  vehicles
The navigation systems can be connected to celphones, laptops and other monitoring equipment.
Benefits to bus and jeepney owners/operators includes:
a.        Keep track on the number of trips
b.      Keeping track on the number of violations (per driver or bus)
c.       Real-time notification for any violations
d.      Locates abandoned or stolen vehicles
Benefits to traffic enforcers/MMDA:
a.        Real-time notification
b.      Streamlines the ticket issuance and payment (and frees up enforcers for other types of work)
a.        It eliminates recording of violations on a piece of paper
b.      Automatic/online  ticket issuance to the operators/owners directly
c.       Settlement can be done online as well through bank payment transfers
c.       Locates abandoned or stolen vehicles
d.      Using it also allows engines to be turned off if vehicle is deemed stolen or poses a threat to the general public or if violations are too many
e.      Moreover, it will help instill discipline and order to the drivers and our traffic systems.
f.        Removes the personal transactions such as ‘lagay’ and ‘palangis’
This is also useful for car insurance agencies as there is a log of actual date, speed and other information during claim and eliminates some investigation work at their end. 4 ( am involved with such a company)

2.        TERMINAL FEES in airports to be added to the airfare tickets immediately to remove a separate queue at the airport when leaving for abroad.
Collection can be done by setting up an account where airlines and travel agencies can deposit the payments.  The passport number can be used as the traceability number where the immigration database, at least the portion that is not confidential, can be linked to the airlines and travel agencies to ensure proper accounting. 3

3.        Integrate the E-PASS of SLEX and E-TAG of NLEX so motorists can enjoy the benefits of auto-toll deduction either direction they go.  If it can be done by the banking sector and telecom sector, the toll system which only employs the basic of arithmetic is easier to deal with. 3

4.       Shoes/Sandals  with variable heights
Three main components:
a.        Basic flat shoes with slots at the soles for fitting the heels
b.      Heels (which can be varying in height – best type is wedges), it should have a protrusion (or locking mechanism)  that will fit exactly in the slot of the basic shoes
c.       Cushions for the soles put on top after locking in the heels. 4

5.        Imaging Techniques for  Fast Foods/Cafeterias
Use of imaging techniques/softwares to automatically calculate amount of ordered foods rather than punching on a cash register one by one.   A camera  can be placed on top of a table and scan a tray for its content and automatically.  The software can identify the food and automatically calculate the total amount of food ordered 4
6.        Vertical Parking for motorcycles/bicycles for space constraint areas:
A hexagonal pole with slots (s) for the vehicle and a bar to keep the vehicle in place. 4

NU6 by RG Mandatory Weekend and Holiday Duty for MD

Resending.

MANDATORY WEEKEND & HOLIDAY DUTIES FOR MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS
It has been a common practice here in the Philippines that most doctors, dentists, optometrists..etc are only available during weekdays. Their clinics are usually closed during weekends and holidays. That is why, for most of us who are tied-up with our work and businesses, have to sacrifice a day or two just to be able to consult a medical practitioner. Employees are most affected because they have to file a leave just to have a check-up.
For me, health should be the number one priority of every individual, the society and the government in order to have a strong and healthy workforce that can deliver a progressive economy.
It is just frustating that most people have the time during weekends and holidays but majority of the medical clinics are closed. We understand that these medical professionals have to spend time with their families also but since their job is more of a vocation and obligation to the people, they should adjust their schedule in order to maximize their service to the community.
This type of extended operations have already been initiated by the banks and some medical clinics inside the malls but I think it will be more benefecial if it will be mandatorily required by the government.
Gone also are the days, where you can also request a physician to conduct home visits to sick people. 3 sorry for the mix up

Aluminum in Vaccines to Induce Body to Produce Antibodies?

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

For the last 90 years, aluminum is mixed with vaccines in the belief that it will induce the body to produce antibodies.  But aluminum is toxic to the brain. It harms the brain development of infants injected with such vaccines

Thus the accusation that the autism of the child of John Travolta is iatrogenic (caused by the dr.) may be true.  Diseases like Alzheimer, autism, Parkinsons and ALS.  Aluminum causes the brain to age faster. It is to be noted that American pediatricians administer more vaccines than European counterparts, or elsewhere in the world

Some of the vaccines that contain aluminum are:  Hepa A and Hepa B vaccines, Dtap, Hib, PVC, HPV.

Are the pediatricians aware of this danger?  In the past we focus on the dangers of mercury (in fish like tuna as dangerous for children's brain development)  There is no concern for metal in vaccines.

Will FDA act  on these?  Will vaccine producers modify their vaccines to be healthier?

Some Cardiac Tests Unneccessary?

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

There is a recent article in Newmax Health that questions the usefulness and relevance of the use of the various tests for suspected heart patients ranging from ECG, Carotid Ultrasound, Echo Cardiogram, Cardiac CT scan, and stress test,.  Healthy living, and lower BS, cholesterol,  cutting down on stress, fatty food, having exercise is the answer.

Read on: Unnecessary Heart Tests?

Some are believed to lead to further more expensive diagnostic tests and does not improve the life of the heart patients.

This reminds us of a chapter in Malcolm Gladwell book regarding a public hospital in Chicago that caters to heart patients.  Their ER unit is overwhelmed, their resources are limited, and their cure rate is limited.  However just by limiting their filtering to just three devices, they were able to increase their survival rate of cardiac/suspect for heart attacks by 70%.  Not more tests are the answer, but the right intuitive tests.  Blinking.

Read more Blink/ Malcolm Gladwell

About a decade ago, I read a newsletter of a famed heart bypass surgeon.  He prided himself with having done countless successful open heart surgery and the skills with which he did his job/specialty.  But he himself was overweight, drank, smoke a lot etc. (having a lifestyle that was not conducive to healthy heart.

It soon dawned to him, and I still remember his advice, because at 40+ I was having chest pains (angina?) that the answer to this heart problem was not a heart bypass.  It was expensive and traumatic/debilitating to the patient.  More often than not there is recurrence or death within 5 years after surgery.  The patient may die not from the operation but the trauma on other organs.

There has to be a better way.  He found out that by advising his hopeless patients (inoperable) or open close (the arteries are so hardened and clogged), patients got better and well by advising them to walk a mile  a day.

He changed his lifestyle and practice of medicine.  He went into preventive medicine promoting good food, diet, exercise and the like.  He does not earn much as a heart surgeon (one bypass optns  before costs a BMW) now you can have a package for P lm, or even less ($25,000.00).

Let us be healthy

Some Drugs and Alcohol Do not Mix

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

Everybody is mourning over the death of Whitney Houston.  She was found dead with evidence that she was drinking alcohol and drug Xanax (alprazolam)  Alprazolam belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazipine (like Valium). Alcohol and benzodiazipine should not be taken together because alcohol potentiates their action on the brain (body).

The report says it has  "snowball" effect.  Benzodiazipine gives you amnesia effect, namely you lose track of the amount of alcohol you have drank;   the drug slows down your respiratory rate which is accelerated by alcohol, your brain loses oxygen, and so on and so  forth.

Alcohol and common cough preparation  that contains dex (detrometorphan hydrobromide) should never be taken together too. (Metformin and alcohol should not be taken together)

What is sad is that deaths of celebrities and others could have been prevented if they followed these sensible advice.  The question is why?

Will you?

Uses of Stem Cells: Post Heart Attack, Mastectomy

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

We have learned that stems cells from another post, regarding Suzanne Sommers  regarding the use of stem cells for breast cancer victims.  It helped women who underwent mastectomy to regrow their chest.

In my conversation with doctors here in the PHL we know of  stem cells therephy (costing $60t) for:  post prostate surgery and kidney failure. I know of one fellow who had ca of the kidney whom I thought would  die is now alive and kicking.

Stem cells  treatment for beauty care is now well known;  and so with its use in preventing organ transplant rejection in University of Madrid.

In a Discovery presentation, the stem cell therapy is well known in Thailand and China.  China foresees that this field is going to a driver of export in the next 20 years.

I know of former students in MBA health who were doing research in this field, but mostly collecting stem cells from umbilical cords of babies in a government maternity hospital.

Foods for Love

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

We just celebrated Valentines in the PHL;  elsewhere in the world they are celebrating this day today.

Let us review what are the foods of love again:

Oyster  -  contains dopamine, a nuero transmitter in the brain that increases feeling of sexual desire;

Tomatoes  -  believe it or not, lycopene, aside from an ingredient that prevents prostate cancer, boosts sexual powers. It is also called the love apple.

Vitamin C -  increases quantity and quality of sperm count;

Chocolates  -  as mentioned in yesterdays blog was the primitive Vit V;  it contains phenylethamines, which boosts the production of endorphins, which produces the body high;

Honey -  honey moon would not be called were it not for the fact that honey increases the sexual stamina of newly weds;

Fruits and vegetables

Granola - rich in L arginine which boosts sexual function;  other food rich in same are green vegetables, garlic, peanuts, oatmeal and ginseng seeds.

Fish  - from salmon and mackerel are rich in Omega 3 which boosts your nerve circuitry and circulatory system

According to Dr John Mulhal of Cornell University, anything that is good for the heart is good for erection.

E-pass and Customer Service at SLEX
Going to work, I always passed by the SLEX. I am also an e-pass user which is under our company account. Last quarter of 2011, I have experienced unexpected queues in the e-pass lane, which is supposed to be not happening. This is because of the on-going testing by MATES (organization handling SLEX operations) on the e-pass readers. During these periods, there were frequent times when the reader can't sense the e-pass and the teller will then have to input the account number when this happens. I myself was not happy because the e-pass lane beats the purpose of convenience and faster way to pass through toll booths. I've read from the newspaper that SLEX is now looking into this situation and they are really experiencing technical problems with these readers. Their Malaysian 3rd party programmers are fixing the situation.
The above experience is just one. As of the moment, I haven't yet experienced the same; maybe the test had gone ok. But there are still those who pissed me in the e-pass lane: those motorists who have low-balances and yet they are still passing through the e-pass lane. It is okay if this would be the first time for the motorist to know that his balance is low but there are those who still pass by the lane without re-charging their tags. I happen to know this from a friend because he says that toll booth personnel will still let you pass but it creates delay because the toll booth operator near the e-pass lane will have to come out from his booth and press something at the keyboard to acknowledge the e-pass with low balance. What happens is that once the tag was re-loaded, all those fees that were transacted during the low balance or zero balance will be deducted from the amount re-loaded on the tag. I just hoped that SLEX management should improve this way of handling low and zero balance tags so that it does not become a routine for them and create inconvenience to fellow motorists.
Another improvement that I want to suggest is that the e-pass lane should also reflect the actual amount of toll fee when approaching a particular exit. In current situation, a "thank you" message appears when you pass by an e-pass lane. What if the reader was somehow defective and overcharged the motorist in that particular exit? This situation is not far from happening because machines are bound to fail or to make errors no matter how careful we are in maintaining these. This is one way of assuring consumers/motorists like that the appropriate amount is being charge, especially in my case in which I can report to our Logistics group should there be cases of overcharging.
I can't help but compare the customer service level between SLEX and NLEX. I have this one experience in NLEX wherein I got a flat tire when I was in Sta. Rita. I never saved that NLEX hotline number in my phone but because of its visibility in the expressway, I was able to memorize it and used to call it so that they can help me with my flat tire. The toll personnel were fast in responding, in less than 10 minutes, they were already starting to replace my flat tire. What is more delighting is that they also suggested a nearby vulcanizing shop and assisted me to get there. Knowing that I'm ready to go, I offered them 2 bags of breads but they declined. What they asked me is to email my feedback of their service to the address that they gave me. That's really superior customer service!!! There were also available telephone booths in case our cellphones had run out of batteries. In SLEX, I don't see it the way NLEX is doing things. I can't judge yet on how fast they could attend to motorists with flat tires because I haven't experience it there yet but what I noticed is there are no phone booths the same as those in NLEX. Hotline numbers are also not that visible. I see a hotline number but it is a cellphone line and very difficult to memorize. I think SLEX should also stick with a 4-digit hotline number. Of course in terms of the kilometer length between NLEX and SLEX, the phone booths and hotline numbers are still important to be installed in the SLEX, given the short distance say from Alabang to Calamba. Emergencies will happen and these are not anticipated. It is important that every expressway, no matter how long or short the travel distance, should have these basic emergency provisions. 3.5

Professor, Facility, Classroom and Site Coordinators Assessment in AGSB Satellite Schools

Same as on trainings conducted (in-house or external), an end of training or end of course assessment is also given to Professors/facilitators of AGSB. I view this not just a piece of paper but a way for AGSB management to gauge whether they are providing excellent academe services. In one satellite school that I am enrolled since 2010, I noticed that there are times when the site coordinator is not consistent in getting the student's assessment of the subject and the Professor. As I mentioned, this assessment should be viewed as an important input in order for AGSB to improve its services to students.
Of course nobody is perfect as the saying goes. But with AGSB as an academic institution, I could not get the idea that there are some basic services that are not properly carried out. A simple stock monitoring will address the issue of out-of-stock board markers, internet connection that is always down, unrepaired power outlets and unreplaced busted lights in the classroom.
To address these facility concerns, the end of course/subject assessment should include facility, classroom and office evaluation, including the site coordinators. It is not only the effectiveness of the Professors in the course that is solely evaluated but the support services as well. There is no doubt that AGSB really provides quality education but maintaining the quality of service and facility of satellite schools should also be aligned with AGSB's reputation.
To address the compliance of students in assessing the revised end of course/subject assessment, AGSB could do this on-line. The AGSB site administrator can post the assessment on each student's page and the student will answer the assessment online. To ensure compliance, the student may not be able to register and enroll on the next subject until he was able to complete the assessment. AGSB should also program the results generation automatically so there is no need to tally and compute the results manually. Aside from strictly imposing to students to answer the assessment, there could be savings in terms of paper and the students are given ample time to evaluate their Professors, the facility, classroom, office and site coordinators. Sometimes, the last session is also hectic and low priority is being given by students in answering the assessment. Or if they may answer, the AGSB might not be getting the true assessment, which becomes an input to gauging customer/student satisfaction. 4

1). Call and deliver: Grocery store – In Lipa City, Batangas, I have not seen any stores that customers may call to order grocery items then to home/office delivery.   It would be convenient for customers if there would be such stores where they can call landline/mobile number or log on to their website where they can shop grocery items. The store will deliver their purchases right at their doorsteps. They can just set the minimum order and customers may prefer to use credit card through wireless credit card terminal. It would be a big help for those busy people that has no time to visit supermarket. 3
2) Improvement in SM supermarket - Most of the time especially during holidays, the lines in the payment counters in the supermarket are very long.  As an improvement, it would be better if there would be waiting area like lounges (with chairs, TV or magazines). Shoppers will be given designated numbers while waiting. Their number will be called if it is their turn to pay already.  In this way, customer especially senior citizens or those with kids will have a comfortable time waiting.  3
3) Drive thru – coffee shops – In Lipa City, there are 4 major coffee shops, Starbucks, Coffee bean, Figaro and Café de Lipa. As an improvement with their services, they can offer 'drive thru' service. Customers may opt to buy coffee or snacks through this service especially those customers who are in a hurry, does not want to leave their cars and when parking slots are full. This additional service adds value to their customers.  4
Thank you so much!

Chocolate, Celery and Strawberries as Turn-on Foods

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

Today is Valentine's Day and it is no wonder that chocolate is the gift for most lovers.  It is an ancient aprodisiac.  I am posting here a post in my biker's blog.  It is a new idea for me (and for others too?)

"Bike and Save Your Health

Happy Valentines Day today.  There will be a lot of flowers and chocolate gifts to loved ones.  Why chocolate?

In ancient times, the Vit. V was chocolate,  not in the form today but simply crushed cocoa beans spiced with Chili.  It was supposed to be the drink of Emperor Montezuma, and even Casanova  before engaging in the nocturnal activities.  Cocoa dilates blood vessels and give good feeling because of its effect on the brain.

Alternative Cures/Medicine

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

I again got a feed for alternative medicine for cure of various ailments.  One of the most dreaded diseases now is cancer and for most part, there is no known or effective cure for cancer  (that is what most doctors will  tell you if your loved ones lose battle for cancer)

But there are many news coming out from the underground medicine (alternative medicine) who say otherwise.

For instance they discovered that 30 years ago, cancer is not known among three tribes:   among Hopi Indians, tribes in Northern Pakistan, and tribes in the highlands of  Peru and Ecuador.  What could explain the absence of cancer:  could it be the water they drink or the food they eat grown in rich volcanic soil?

Cesium caused cancer cells to self destruct.

They found out that the alkaline minerals contained in the water they drink had cesium chloride and they discovered that cesium blocked the cancer cells pores through which they expelled nutrients. Cesium caused the cancer cells to self destruct as more and more nutrients accumulate with nowhere to go.  However this was ignored by American Cancer Society

"New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."

Kombu seaweed in Okinawa

They also found out that Okinawans who ate plenty of  kombu seaweeds did not have cancer.  They found out the seaweed contains fucoidan, a long chain carbohydrate that caused cancer cells to self destruct.

Other cures:

What is best for anthrax or the new strain of flu?  Lactobacillus bulgaricus, an extract from common yogurt was discovered to be best antidote when Russia accidentally released anthrax.
