NU 12 Virus attack by Tinkerbell

Date Submitted:  March 22, 2013

VIRUS ATTACK

I just had my PC and laptop reformatted because of viruses!  Thank goodness for IT staff in the hospital.  I can call them any time of day and night.  I got my reformatted PC and laptop in a jiffy.  Unfortunately, all my files got corrupted and we were only able to retrieve some of them.  My back-up was also infected so there goes my luck.  Wait, there's more!  Since I had my PC reformatted all I can use is the printer, photocopier, and fax of my all-in-one printer-scanner-fax-photocopier.  I cannot use the scanner.  I had to look for the drivers and reinstall.  Lo and behold, the printers are nowhere to be found.  We looked everywhere including the net.  I cannot find the same model even with its provider.  I just wish manufacturers thought of consumers when they were assembling their product and thinking of the possibility that drivers get lost.  I hope they come up with a sort of plug and use type of all-in-one printer-scanner-fax-photocopier to make life easier for those who also need their computers reformatted.

NU 11 - What pisses me off at the school?
      .                  By: CEBPAC

Having class session in the morning and one in the afternoon will surely drift me  off to sleep.  Coffee is needed to perk me up or to make me alert.  At AGSB, one can procure a cup of coffee from the canteen located at the ground floor or from a vending machine at the  3rd floor. Class sessions for MBAH are at the 2nd floor and you have to go to these floors to get a cup of coffee.

It pisses me off when I have to go to these floors to get a cup of coffee and sometimes you cant avoid-spilling the liquid while walking back to the classroom. It's not only coffee that the students need during class but water, juice or sodas are also in demand.

What must be done at the school?
A vending machine in each floor will be provided for coffee for easy accessibility for students.  Another vending machine for water, juices, sodas, chips is another suggestion so that students can have choices. AGSB has provided vending machine in every rest room with tissue, sanitary napkins, etc, , why can't they provide other vending machines for food stuffs in each floor?

NU 10 -WHAT PISSES ME OFF IN MY OFFICE? WHAT MUST BE DONE?
                                  By : CEBPAC
I'm very particular with cleanliness in my office and even at home.  I have a white tile flooring in my office and any dirt can easily be seen.  What pisses me off  is to see strands of hair in the floor. Simple sweeping can't  clean this up and it needs picking it.  It's a strenuous work and time consuming picking up hairs  from the floor.

What I'm thinking to do is to develop a stick with sticking pad in one end.  The janitor will just walk around holding the stick and upon seeing those hairs, will just touch  it with sticked pad.  It will surely make the cleaning so easy and will make the office hair free.

Hi Sir,

Sorry, I sent the assignment below to the wrong email address.

Starbird

Serendipity walk
I live in a condominium near our office. Beside the condominium is an establishment owned by a popular mall which has a supermarket and other stalls for various services needed by the residents of the mall - hair cut, laundry, pharmacy etc.  These stalls cater to class B and C income class. What I would like to set up is a structure with maybe the same services but is much cheaper than the ones found in the existing establishment.

The stalls will have low priced items/services that cannot be provided by the existing establishments (eg. Carinderia, budget haircuts, "talipapa",  bakery etc.)

New idea

A locker for rent in bus stations in the Philippines. This would be similar to that found in countries in Europe where a traveler may temporarily leave his belongings which he will not be needing during his journey. He will just claim his belongings when he returns from the trip 3

MBAH NU 12 NU 8 by CebPac -What pisses you off at the Mall

NU 8 - WHAT PISSES YOU OFF ATHE MALL? WHAT DO YOU SIGGEST?
                          By: CEBPAC

I like going to the mall after a busy day in the clinic and in the hospital.  I usually go to the mall to shop, just to roam around to find new things, to eat, and to pass time.

Once I'm in the mall,  the call of nature  could not be avoided.  I have to use the comfort room to feel comfortable.  What pisses me off in the mall is using the comfort room that is not clean and has offensive odor, and no hooks in the wall to hold my bag or shopping bags.  Its so awkward urinating with  my butt 6inches away from the rim of the bowl,  while  holding on to my bag and shopping bags and my nose nearly poking on the uncovered trash can.

The things that contribute to the dirty and offensive odor of the comfort room in the mall which really pisses me off.

        1. Uncovered trash cans --cause the offensive odor in the area, as if it serves as air freshener.  I can even see what is inside the trash can that is not good to see.
      2. Dirty and wet floors, lavatory, and toilet bowls--also contributes to the foul odor in the comfort room.
      3. Defective flushing system-- makes the toilet bowl dirty causing offensive odor.
      4. No supplies of toilets paper and soap

The absence of wall hooks for the bags makes urinating uncomfortable because I am holding on to my bags while relieving myself.  It does not contribute to the uncleanliness and offensive odor of the toilet but its presence will truly make reliving me that easy.

What can be improved in the malls' comfort rooms?
A cleaning company that will see to it the cleaning of the comfort room round the clock.  It must always check the following:
1.  Trash cans must have covers with foot pedals to open it.  It  must  be emptied always and not to wait for the trash to pile up.

2. Clean and dry up the floors, lavatories, and toilet bowls with cleaning and refreshing solution.

3. Checking of faucets and flushing system regularly and  not to wait for the plumber only  for repair. Maintenance is a must.

4.  Soaps and toilet papers for sanitary purposes.

Installing of wall hooks for bags is a little thing but will make relieving in the comfort room conveniently comfortable.  Always check for these things.

It is not only the duty of the mall management to keep the toilet clean and having good smell, but the shoppers has also a role to do.  Be always considerate to the next user by flushing the toilet bowls, drying up the toilet seat and lavatory, and  covering up the trash cans.

It will surely make my day  in the mall enjoyable  by using a clean and  smelling good  comfort room.

NU 12 #12 MBAH by Sugar Scalpel - follow up and checking subordinate work

Nu 12: What pisses me off at our office? What must be done?

Entrep AGSB MBAH 10B

The environment where we work sometimes reflect how we are viewed by our customers or clients. If we believe in this saying, then we spend time and effort to really tidy up our office and make sure everything is in good working condition. We instruct our secretaries to fix everything and sometimes make them a schedule of activities or things to do so that you don't have to keep on reminding them. This is an ideal set-up. Unfortunately, everything doesn't always go as planned. What pisses me most in the office is failing to accomplish the necessary paperworks needed to satisfy government regulatory agencies. That means accomplishing and paying our income taxes, municipal/mayor's permits, getting our residence certificate, PTR, paying and renewing our Philhealth accreditations and many others. I always remind my secretary all those things and assume that everything is taken cared of since you reminded your secretary. Alas, when you look and check for those things, its non-existent. What must be done about it?

First, never ever assume that what you have instructed to your secretary will be followed to the letter. Second, you must physically check the necessary proof like receipts, the permits themselves, the paperworks themselves to make sure that everything was really accomplished. Third, always have a checklist on what to do and physically check with your secretary whether its done. Fourth, always check and check and never ever assume that everything is ok unless you yourself did so. If you do not do these things, it will be very costly on your part, not your secretary's part, and you will end up fuming mad and suffering the consequences.     3

NU12 #10 MBAH by Sugar Scalpel - dealing with smoking habit

New Products/Product Improvements: Cigarette Health Markers

Entrep AGSB MBAH 10B
Sugar Scalpel

Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body resulting to diseases that reduce the health of smokers in general. Smoking accounts for 443,000 deaths or nearly one out of five deaths each year in the United States, more than all deaths caused by HIV, illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides and murders combined(Centers for Disease Control). So what can we do about it? As of now, there are several programs being implemented worldwide such as not allowing smoking in public places like school, public transport, hospital, buildings, and many others. Even when there are programs being implemented, smoking is still an ever increasing threat worldwide.

I think we should re-evaluate our programs about reducing smoking and focus more on smokers themselves. We should focus on the psyche of the smokers themselves to be able to influence their behavior about reducing or eventually stopping this dreaded habit. One way of doing this is by putting health markers on every stick of the cigarette. We can put heart and lung figures on every cigarette stick and put a poison symbol at the most proximal part of the cigarette stick. In this way, smokers will see that as they are puffing and consuming the cigarette and the cigarette getting shorter and shorter, they will see that they are burning their heart & lungs and getting nearer to the poison sign which only means death. In this way, they will always see the poison sign every stick of cigarette they consume and hopefully realize thru psyche conditioning that continuing on consuming cigarettes will eventually catch up on them and "poison" or kill them sooner than they expected. 35

NU 12: New Products/Product Improvements: Heads Up Display for navigation system

Entrep AGSB MBAH 10B
Sugar Scalpel

Newer vehicles now are offering navigation system as standard or optional accessories because of its inherent usefulness. For sure you have experienced getting lost on your way to a destination you are not familiar with and you will only realize the importance of navigation systems in this setting. But that is not the only benefit you get from such system, it will also tell you alternative ways if there is heavy traffic and other directions that are more direct & nearer. The only problem with navigation systems are that they are usually located in the center console of vehicles that necessitate the user/driver of a vehicle to shift his focus from the road to the center console. Boom! Accident! When driving, the first and most critical rule is to stay always focus on the road ahead to prevent dangerous accident. But when you are lost and panicking and might miss an important occasion or meeting, you tend to focus more on the navigation system screen and more importantly, away from the road ahead.
Now, all navigation systems should be mandated by the government regulatory agencies to feature a heads-up display, usually on the windshield at eye level of the driver of a vehicle so that drivers can follow the directions of the navigation system without removing his focus on the road ahead. In this way, the focus of the driver is not distracted and can prevent serious or sometimes fatal injuries from vehicular accidents. We should remember that roads are now the biggest killer of young people over the age of 10, road traffic injuries now the single biggest source of fatality among 10 to 24 year olds worldwide.  4      <affordable kaya?>

NU 12 MBAH from the POKER QUEEN -Philhealth coverage for children

NU 12:  New thought process: AUTOMATIC PHILHEALTH COVERAGE FOR CHILDREN

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp (PHILHEALTH) aims for Universal Healthcare Coverage under the current administration however it is quite unfortunate that less than 50%  of the country's population are not covered by the plan. This is brought about by a large number of informal sectors or even those below the poverty line who have to apply and pay for their own premium. Although the government has several strategies to increase membership, it seems that the problem cannot be solved. What happens is that some people cannot get financial assistance for their healthcare needs when hospitalized, particularly the children. It is not their fault that their parents are not philhealth members. Even the "no balance billing scheme" of the Philhealth cannot help them because it is on top of Philhealth coverage. So i suggest that there is an automatic PhilHealth coverage for children up to 18 years old. Even if they don't have any money to buy medicines, the treatment management of the child who is admitted in the hospital may be given and at the same time, the hospital can reimburse with philhealth. This is a win-win solution to all parties. 3.5

What pisses you off at the mall?  What do you suggest?
"Malling" as we know it in the Philippines means sauntering inside a facility which encloses a variety of shops enticing people to enter and buy their goods or avail their services.  It has been a common way of life for the average Filipino.  Our family holds our bonding moments on Sundays and most of the time we visit different malls to try different restaurants and spend the day eating out and looking for things which might satisfy our cravings.  The one thing that pisses me off are the attitudes of some of the salesladies who are overzealous in selling their wares.   This event normally happens in the tiangges where stores are situated side by side and opposite each other leaving only an aisle small enough to make passers by take a side step so as not to bump an oncoming person.    I most hate it when they call me "maam, bili na po kayo, ano hanap nyo?"  Although this might not be bothersome to others, I simply want to ignore them more even if I see something of interest in their store.  I want to enjoy my window shopping without the nagging of these persons whom I know is just making a living.
My only suggestion for this type of behavior is for them to wait until the customer asks them regarding their wares then and only then will they respond to entice the customer to purchase their goods.  Salesladies are there to make a "sale" however, they should understand that as potential buyers, we have different personalities which some of us are very hard to please. Giving the buyer space to decide their needs and at the same time, being available for them when the need arises is one that would help us decide otherwise.

NEW SPENDING HABITS/ROUTINE
During my undergraduate years, I was fortunate enough to be exposed to a life of dependence when it comes to money matters. I was even luckier enough to be given a credit card extension from my brother. Shopping and luxury was part of my life. I became out of control. I was a shopaholic. Payday would mean having time to go to the mall and squander although, maturity opened new ideas and perspective in life. As my previous motto was spend till you drop…. The new motto became why spend? I was more mindful with what I buy but still I see myself having a shopping spree.

When I started to have my family, my perception became more different. I was more conscious with the value of money. Buying was not for me alone but for the family. I mostly use my credit card to keep track of expenses and check on my statements every month to monitor my expenditure. For my income, I make it a point to place 25-30% of my savings in the bank or better still, have a separate account where I usually place my savings. I refrain from going to the mall not unless the need would arise. But then, the shopper in me would rise up once in a while like indulging myself in food. This I still have to work on… As I was listening in the radio where the topic was how to manage your finances, a new idea popped up. This would mean, placing my money or card in an envelope where logging in all expenses are to placed in the envelope. The speaker said it works. Well, this I still would have to find out. But hopefully, yes…. At least, I still have to discipline myself into doing these things… improving my spending habits. 3

WHT PISSES YOU IN THE OFFICE:
I am really not a computer person and have difficulty in entering blogs and twitters Using Facebook is such an effort with myself trying to figure out what to press and write. Writing and typing my ideas are things that I look forward to and have a secretary on hand to help me out. I open the net and I see an adware tracking cookie while I try cleaning up my computer with viruses. Only to find out that what it meant was an "those ads popping out while opening sites". ( I just hope that these are true). As I sit in front of meetings, I see my colleagues using their excel program with ease and adding up functions and data in their file. What are they?I do not even know what these are so I thought it best to just put all my thoughts to your email. Lucky the young ones where computer is introduced in Kindergarten and pity the old ones, where learning them is just like doing the ABCs.
I love to learn new things.... new ideas....but using the internet and emerging technology are painstakingly ridiculous. But looking through all, I know what these are- things that all of us, even the lolos and lolas of our age should be introduced to. I am not one of those in the later years, but am one of those in the middle years. Those who are put in between knowing and learning. For us to realize our dreams to establishing businesses, we must keep up with the "Joneses". I think that I should take Computer 101 and read up on this new gadgets/technology that will be part of our tomorrows. I need to practice using  and surfing the net and apply to my everyday life. I need to let technology and computer and the internet be a part of my life just like what I am doing right now... typing my innermost thoughts of things in the hospital that I hate most. 3

VIRTUAL 4D-ZIPLINE EXPERIENCE…

AGSB MBAH 10-B

Category: Entertainment
By: sherwinisms

Ziplines are very popular in tourist destinations nowadays. The adrenalin rush created by a few seconds of beingsuspended in air sliding down a slope is worth every peso spent and every second of putting ones life in danger. The longer the zipline and the higher the slope... the better.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have that same experience without having to go out of your way? Wouldn’t it be nice to zipline not just in scenic areas in the Philippines but in other countries as well? The Virtual Zipline 4D-Ride is the answer to that. It would be a ride like no other located just in the comforts of gaming/entertainment centers of your favorite malls. A capsule-like vessel and inside a rider is suspended in a body harness like in an ordinary zipline. The inside of the capsule is a 360-degree screen in 3D. What would also make the ride unique is the actual feel of wind blowing while the slide down a slope is being simulated. Projected in the screen are scenic places around the world seen at bird’s eye view. You get to choose your area. It’s as if you get to go to other countries and ride your own zipline in that area and have the feel of an actual 4D-Zipline experience. 4

Topic: What Pisses You Off in the Mall?
"Do It Yourself" Shopping
CONCEPT:
It is an often scenario at the mall especially at certain department stores that customers ask sales person for stocks of an item and the usual reply of the sales person is "no more stocks" without batting an eyelash.  This scenario pisses me off since its quite obvious that the sales person did not exert any effort to look for available stocks that a customer is looking for.
What if the customer has access for available stocks using a computer? What if the customer has freedom to choose what he wants with just few clicks of keypad? Will do it yourself shopping be more fun?
IMPLEMENTATION:
My idea revolves around "do it yourself" shopping. Computers with installed programs for the customers to access available stocks of certain items be available at strategic areas in the department store. There will be sales persons assigned to specific areas who will assist customers in doing the procedure.
Each item in the store will have a specific code number that will be visible to the customer. The customer then enters in the computer the item's code number and the customer will have access of available stocks. For example the item is a pair of shoes. By typing the code number, the customer will know the available shoe colors and sizes. The customer then clicks the shoe size and color which he desires and this will be printed out serving as the order form. The order form will then be brought to the claim area where the item will be made available for fitting. If the customer likes the item then he proceeds to the cashier for payment. The shoe size and color bought by the customer will then be removed from the available list of items. On the other hand, if the customer does not like the item then he can return it for other customers to buy.  4
BENEFITS:
-       Less people with no knowledge of available items hovering around customers
-       Customers will be less pissed off because they have easy access to items they want
-       Less number of sales person strolling in department stores doing nothing. They will be repositioned in the claim and cahier areas
-       More freedom for the customers to choose what they want
-       Easier inventory of items sold
