A recent newsfeed tells of a recent discovery that is about a common anti diabetes drug is good for treating cancer!  This is an important discovery because this will mean cheaper expenses for would be or all ready cancer victims.

New Method of Cancer Treatment Being Developed by Pnoys thru DOST

 A new method of treating cancer is being developed by UP Instute of Biology.  The team is led by Dr. Jay Lazaro and is supported by DOST c/o Secretary Montejo.  The treatment uses immunoliposomes, or microcell system of delivery of drugs that is more cancer cell speciific.

The regular treatment using chemotheraphy is toxic tro nearby normal cells and painful to the cancer patient.  The new method tends to lessen toxicity and pain for the patient.  However, this will tend to be more expensive.

So Filipinos are holding out on their own in terms of innovation and advances in medical technology.  Who says that Pnoys are behind innovation?
