Testing the Proxiwoo
Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship
We are now doing field test of the Proxiwoo; five ads were installed. Three were for memorial park businesses and two others are located in Taytay.
The Virtus Ventures staff were so kind to allow this to test without any commitment yet. We will see during the day and the weekend how it works.

Further discusssion on Proxiwoo apps
Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship
"New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."

Yesterday, Friday the 13th we had a meeting with Perry Rico of Proxiwoo (Virtus Ventures) from 8 pm to almost l0 clarifying out operational and technical issues about Proxiwoo. The heavy rains and heavy traffic at EDSA did not prevent us from pushing through with the meeting. I brought along my daughter, Madelene who asked a lot of very detailed questions: minimum and maximum amount for subs, which account will be subject to revenue sharing, free trial for subs. She seem to have an application for Proxiwoo, because she and her sister are engaged in on line marketing.
We covered:
l. threshold visit, downloading of apps for go or no go;
2. monitoring audit of revenue for apps
3. term of payment; revenue sharing during the term period
4. using a more attractive user name (instead of Holy Gardens- it may connote negative feeling)
Perry patched us up with Matt Shields and we conversed for a while.
I told Perry that not much is written on the web page and blog regarding this revolutionary technology.
Perry reminded us to always include Virtus Ventures in this conversation or blog. (I have two blogs that appear on Google page on Proxiwoo.) Yes I will.
It was very fruitful and positive meeting. I hope I can get the support of the Board for this as this is a sizeable cap ex.

Further discussion on new marketing apps Proxiwoo, via smartphones (Android)
Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship
"New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."

In my class for entrep last year, there were discussion about apps use in grocery stores and supermarkets that can: tell what is on sales, pinpoint the location of gondola and how to get there, and other impt features of the store. And when I inquired if such a device exist, there was none.
Perry was able to come up with one app, but it was limited to a store or can not be installed at once in many places. One account can cover many companies, many branches, many location, and many products. Isnt that a wonderful marketing tool?
This can be applicable to Android phones.
Why Android phones only? The big market share of smartphones is with Android; Nokia, RIM's share are doubtful. However, i0s version is available.
Here comes invention by Perry Rico. (Perry Rico invented this and it took him one year to finish the apps) It comes perfectly close to that suggestion. It is now marketed under the name Proxiwoo.
I know for a fact that grow in IT in this decade will come from apps; the growth company that vied for honors with FB at Wall St at the time of the IPO were apps company. The next wave will be the apps; no longer the dot com company or telco company
We are lucky that Perry contacted me for this; we will be most happy to try this; to remarket this apps. I can see and agree that is disruptive. It will change the way marketers communicate to the prospects; the tarps, instore ads, newspaper and billboards will be rendered obsolete. The great outdoor advertising will have to rethink their business models.
I found out more about his partner Matt Shields, CIO of Virtus Ventures at twitter and following him. He likes to tweet on self development; just like most entrepreneurs.
Why:
l. The apps is geo specific; there is no spillage; it will throw messages to within l0 km radius; the apps can either be pop up when the phone user is within the 10 km radius, or acquired from the Google apps.
2. The apps will send messages who will be most qualified to buy; they possess android and smartphones which are status symbols of wealth and social status (SEC)
3. The price of subscription to this service can be much lower than expenses in tarps, billboards, promo girls/boys
4. It is like having thumbnail of webpages: or peek into the establishment. What are the offering: menu in the case of restaurant, price, ambiance, picture of the establishment etc.
According to Perry they are marketing this to P & G; however, I think they should market this Mcdonald, Walmart, Target etc....
We should be glad to try this out, do beta testing in the Phil, and remarket when this becomes widely used and popular.

Proxiwoo is Perry Rico's new idea becoming a reality
Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship
"New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."
Teodoro A Rico was a former entrep student and right after finishing entrep subject, he informed me that he, as an apps programmer was working on an in store ads/promo apps. Last sem, he was asking assistance for funding to expand his business.
Today he informed me that his project is now proxiwoo - he had a foreign investor, an American, who is helping him gain access to the world and American market. Just in case I buy his software, I would be his first in the Philippines. Since I am not an IT, I failed to see the opportunity in his invention. I foresee that many ads: billboards, led, tarpaulin would be rendered obsolete by this apps.
I could however, acquire other users if I have the software or license. However the license fee is stiff for the size of our enterprise.
He said it took him one year to develop the apps and 5 technologies to make the program work.
Some unique features:
l. Focussed promotions/ads;
2. Permission marketing; there is no spam since only those who like can receive the ads;
3. Tied up with FB;
4. Tied with mobile phones
5. Has GPS feature; shows how far the prospect is from the site;
6. Is not site limited to the site; can cover up to l0 km radius.
Wow this is great.
I talked with him at great length, how this would work during interments and all saints day.
So dear entrep students, you too can, with the right passion, make your great ideas become a reality: your NU 12 into millions. I think a number of the NU 12 submissions are in that category.

Proxiwoo apps; advertising in a mall with geospecific messages via android phones
Hi
A former student in entrep, Perry Rico, is doing apps for ads in retail establishments. This is site specific. If you go a mall and let us say you advertise a coffee shop, the ads and offers will appear in their android phones.
Find out more about this.

He will demonstrate the apps to me tomorrow. Looks good to me. His contact e mail is above; his cp # is +63922824138. Just in case, I will be his first account, here in the PHL. He is going to be rich.
I can foresee that with the number of android phone users increasing, growth in apps, this particular technology will do away with tarps, billboards and other hard ad materials. Ads via phone apps, will replace the old mobile advertising sms to be replaced by more interactive, rich in graphics android phone apps. I am excited about his product . I can remarket this and even make product since the licensing will cover many companies, branches and products.
Sir,
Here's the website. I can schedule a short demo tomorow.
