NU12 #7 by Sugar Scalpel MBAH -vending machine for wifi

NU 12: New Products/Product Improvements: Putting Free WiFi in Vending Machines
Sugar Scalpel
Entrep AGSB MBAH 10B

Are you a user of vending machines for your personal needs like a quick drink or snacks especially in a hurry or in an emergency, that is, like really thirsty or in diabetic persons suffering from hypoglycemia seconds from passing out that needs sugar loaded drinks to perk up their low blood sugar level? How about sending an important report thru email to your boss who is in a board meeting somewhere and the report is crucial in their discussion, and you are in a grocery store or supermarket in a provincial setting visiting a sick relative or on a 2-day leave or for any other reason, or walking along a busy street on your way home from office? Been in a similar situation?
In this age of smartphones, tablets and connectivity, there are still instances when you need an internet connection "at once" for important matters like reading an important email, answering a query from a customer, answering the order from your boss about sending a report and a whole myriad of reasons. Well, do not feel disappointed or frustrated by it for help is on the way. Here comes the "vending machine with free wifi"! Vending machines are traditionally mobile food sources and can be placed anywhere as long as there is electricity. But vending machines have the potential to expand their "services" because of their potential to reach mass market. Imagine putting a "free wifi" in vending machines to make it more attractive. It has the potential to attract more customers thereby increasing its business volume. The "free wifi" can be triggered only if somebody buys from the vending machines and it will only last for 15 mins. If somebody buys again from the vending machine, the 15 mins. "free wifi" will restart again. This only means that if there is no buyer from the vending machines, then there will be no "free wifi". The mechanics of this also prevents free rider, meaning people who will just roam around vending machines just to enjoy its "free wifi". In this way, you add value to the traditional vending machines and increase its potential to attract more customers and therefore more business for you.  4

NU12: What pisses you off at the neighborhood By: Icey Queen

Neighbors that spend the entire evening up until almost sunrise disturbing the restful sleep of the neighborhood with their loud videoke/karaoke. The louder, the better.
I suggest that there should be a local barangay ordinance to monitor & reduce volume of the sound and the time allowed to use the karaoke machine outdoors. After 12, they should transfer inside their houses.
Or , you can also make your room sound-proof.

New Attitude
Be Wiser / Smarter in Life
I was brought up being spoon fed if not my parents, by my nanny. She was a very loving, kind hearted woman that gave me and my siblings almost everything that we needed. Do not get me wrong because my parents also did their responsibilities and obligations through hard work and perseverance for us to be where we are at the moment. I was not spoiled but to my content almost all I asked for from my parents were granted. Having that personality, I became a happy go lucky type of an individual with almost always ending up to have what I wanted.
Being the eldest now among the three remaining offspring's of my parents, (father, the oldest and second sibling all of them passed away few years) and now acting as administrator of the family business, I definitely should be smarter / wiser. I need to be more observant, analytical, a policy and decision maker, open minded, compassionate and above all God oriented person.3

Tube ice may not be new to us here in Manila, but for a fishing village in Iloilo, it is something new. The natives are not familiar with this type of ice, more so, purified.
Introducing this new product to them raised their awareness that ice needs to be purified just like water. Not only is  the product  new to them but the process of making ice that needs only a small space having a complete package system including water filtration & built in  ice storage bins .
As an Entrepreneur , you see opportunities and draw your visions to what the people, your customer, would appreciate  and soon develop a simple want into a vital need. 3

Disrupting the Decaf
(New and Improved Product)

There have been many mental models established already in the psyche of people especially when it comes to drinking coffee. Some of these mental models are more or less associated with the negative impacts of taking in caffeine. This may explain why consumer companies especially those that are in the business of retailing packaged coffee have tapped into the significant market of decaffeinated coffee drinkers. There may be a good reason why these people prefer decaffeinated coffee over the regular brew. According to the mayo clinic, heavy daily caffeine use may cause unpleasant effects such as insomnia, nervousness, restlessness, irritability, stomach upset, fast heartbeat, and muscle tremors among others. (Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research, 2011) Just to emphasize the potential effects of caffeine, even the researchers from Carnegie Melon University found out that large doses of caffeine may deprive the brain of oxygen which is needed for "calm and rational thinking" since it raises blood pressure, stimulates the heart, and produces shallow rapid breathing. (Bradberry, 2012)
What's more is that a study made by Kubo, Klatsky, and Armstrong of the School of Public Health of University of California found out that "decaffeinated coffee drinkers were less likely to be heavy coffee drinkers, smokers, alcohol drinkers, users of caffeinated soft drinks and medication and to be free of illness." (Kubo, Klatsky, & Armstrong, 2003) This may tell us that caffeine-conscious consumers are the same people who are health-conscious.
That being said, I was able to observe a gap in the existing products offered by manufacturers, distributors, or even retailers of coffee. I noticed, being a health-conscious consumer myself, that no company or brand offered a decaffeinated 3-in-1 coffee pack that is sugar-free - a very important consideration for health-conscious individuals.
I conclude therefore, that manufacturers should be able to look in to this glaring gap and determine opportunities to satisfy the needs and wants of non-caffeine consumers and offer a decaffeinated sugar free pack to profit from this potential gold mine. 3.5 <aspartane and surcrolase are not healthy too, as well as processed, ie decaf coffee>
