TIONLOC - NU 12 - treadmill with laptop
Nu Idea No. 9: Self-Powered Internet
In this day and age, most of us are complaining that we are fat, overweight, or in dire need of exercise however, most of us do not have the time to exercise due to strict schedules, unforgiving working hours, and other responsibilities.
Well, I suggest that we should have a treadmill with a laptop built on it. The internet would be powered by your walking on the treadmill. If you walk slowly, the internet connection would also be slow. But if you want faster internet connection, you would have to run.
This way, it serves dual purpose – you get to exercise AND do your downloads or internet activities in one go. Lose weight and work at the same time – this definitely saves time! 3

NU 12 (6) Carmina Tionloc - Money Tubes
Nu Idea No. 6: Grocery/Department Store Money Tubes
It has been a practice in the Philippine that cashiers walk around with their cash boxes alongside a security guard for protection, may it be their start of their shift or their end of shift. This can be a security risk for the cashier and security guard as well as the general public. We walk around the mall and groceries without knowing who those people are and sometimes, you don’t know if the person next to you has an ill attempt to rob the cashier and hurt the security guard or the public around them.
I suggest the money tubes. Wherein in each cashier’s station, there will be a tube connected to the Finance or Accounting Department which then receives the money. These money tubes have vacuums that would suck the money tube capsules and it would send it to the Finance / Accounting department. Each cashier’s station would have money capsules wherein they would place their collections for the day and sign-off for verification. After placing the money in the capsule, the capsule is closed and sealed and placed inside the money tube. The capsules would then be sent to the Finance/Accounting department.
Through this manner, the cashier is no longer at risk while travelling around the grocery/mall since the money is already out of her hands. This would also ensure safety of the public since the temptation of robbing or snatching is diminished incredibly. The next time the capsule would be touched would be in the Finance/Accounting department wherein finance officers would count the money. Of course, these offices would be out of the public’s eye already. This also ensures an efficient way of collecting the money and at the same time, it makes the money’s trip faster. 3 <an expensive cap ex though>

NU 12 (5) by Carmina Tionloc Manila airport rail
Nu Idea No. 5: Train line along C5 all the way to the airport
All the countries that I have been to have train lines connecting to their main airports so that travelers would not have a hard time commuting to the airport. There is no hassle and once they step off the train, it is already a short walk (or sometimes the airport itself already) to the airport.
I suggest a line starting from Cubao (where the two other main lines are connected – MRT and LRT2). This way, commuters can already change trains. After which, the “airport rail” would then pass through Katipunan then along C5. This way, commuters to Pasig, Taguig, Makati, and Paranaque may also use this train line for their everyday commutes to work or school. At a certain point, there will be a grand station wherein the commuters would then choose the train which has a specific route - to airport terminal 1, 2, or 3. This way, passengers would no longer have to take shuttles or buses to reach their respective terminals.
These airport rail service would then stop at the airport terminal assigned to it and the passengers would just get off the train and easily go inside the airport with the usual pre-boarding procedures.
The airport rail services would alleviate traffic and lessen the usage of cars especially when these trains are on time, reliable, clean, and spacious. This also serves a double purpose – commuters can take this train line to access the areas that C5 encompasses and at the same time, travelers can take this train for easier travel to the airport. 3
NU 12 by Carmina Tionloc - National ID
Nu Idea No. 10: National ID
In our country, we have a lot of IDs to carry in our wallets. To name a few, we have –
1. SSS/GSIS ID
2. TIN ID
3. Driver’s License
4. NBI Clearance ID
5. PhilHealth
6. Postal ID
All these government issued IDs can be a drag to carry around and it can also make our wallets look like we have a lot of money!
My new idea is that we combine all of these IDs into one and each person is given his or her National Identification Number which will be uniquely his or her for life. This can be given to a person at the time of their birth and this would be their number since the day they die. This is a great idea because it would lessen government red tapes and lessen the chances of corruption (since after all, the current administration is all about the “daang matuwid”).
This National ID already has the unique ID number that encompasses all the government IDs that a person has now and this ID is the main ID that each person uses as a main avenue for identification. Having this one ID also reduces the time spent by the individual in lining up in government offices for ID application. The IDs would automatically be given to the child as soon as the child exits the hospital after birth.
The National ID also avoids identity theft since there no numerous numbers assigned to a person. An individual can easily track any transactions made under his National ID number since the number is unique to his or her person. 3
TIONLOC - NU Idea No. 12 Unified electric public transpo system at Makati CBD
Nu Idea No. 12: Electric Unified Public Transportation Along Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue
I currently work along Ayala Avenue and every morning, when I walk to work, there are numerous buses and jeeps that traverse this main thoroughfare. It is noisy, disorganized, and these vehicles emit greenhouse gases that could clog a person’s lungs in no time.
I suggest that the whole of Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue be rid of public transportation and instead, be replaced with an Electric Unified Public Transportation System.
This transportation system would use vehicles that uses electric power to run the motor. This way, there is no pollution produced. A unified transportation system would also mean designated stops at certain points along Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue and this would have exact time of departure and arrival so that there would be order for commuters. This would lessen the noise and disorganization. Also, this would teach commuters about proper time management and order when commuting.
The system would not only help the environment but it would also lessen the vehicles that go through the 3 main roads in a given day. Jeeps and buses would no longer be allowed to enter Ayala Avenue and this way, the whole street would be more spacious and there would be less traffic. 4

TIONLOC - NU12: Idea No. 4 CSR subjects
NU 12: Idea No. 4
Community: AGSB Community especially the students
Idea: Having a Social Responsibility Class incorporated in the MBA Program
We have been exposed to the Mulat Diwa concept that AGSB has and the feeding program as well. But after the limited exposures to these projects and some numerous activities, what happens next? Nothing. Students are encouraged to join but not all students are into it because they do not feel a connection to the program.
I am suggesting that the MBA Program should also have a Social Responsibility class wherein each term, a student would choose a social responsibility class that he or she believes in. This way, there is an active participation from the student and it is not just a one time thing. This is not a graded class but it gives the students the exposure to the social issues that are currently happening in our communities. These social responsibility classes would imbibe in the students that MBAs are not just about making money in the future (since there would be career growth) but this is also a way for the students to be fully aware of what is happening around them. This class would also go hand in hand with Ateneo's motto of being a man for others. Having incorporated the Social Responsibility Classes in the MBA would be a good start for each student to also introduce in their respective companies the concept and practice of corporate social responsibility. 4 (No tuition no credits? hahhaha, just join SC; some classes have the CSR project like we did at MBAH. Or Social Entrep subjects)

NU 12 by CT - Apps for Fund Transfers
NU 12: Idea No. 3
Community: everyone that has bank accounts with different banks
Problem: transfer of funds from one bank to another
Don't we just hate it when we need to transfer funds from one bank to another? We have to go to a bank, fill-up the necessary slips, line up (which may take forever), go to a teller to process our transaction, get the withdrawn money, go to the other bank, fill-up the necessary slips, line up (which may take forever again), go to a teller to process the transaction then done.
Just reading the simplified process is tiring. What more if it was done for real?
New Idea: All banks to have a common framework wherein we can transfer funds via the mobile or the internet.
This would be a great idea because not only would it save on time, but it would also lessen the chances of hold-ups, robbery, and other crimes. This could be done in the safety of our homes without us even holding the physical money. The money can easily be wired to your other bank in another bank. We would just then print out a copy of the transaction and verify with the person's online account if the transfer was done properly.
Benefits:
- lessens the time spent in the bank
- lessens the window of opportunity of robbers to do crimes (hold-ups, robbery, etc)
- easier processing for account holder
- can be done while we're mobile, or in the safety of our own homes, or in the office, or basically any place that has internet access
I, personally, would love a platform like this because it will save me the time of going to one bank and transferring to another. Considering that I have accounts in both Marikina and Makati, it would be quite stressful to travel between the two cities just to attend to my banking matters. (or just use one account, transact via the ATM) 3.5

NU l2 by Carmina Tionloc - Improvements in Parking
Maria Carmina Tionloc
Carmina Tionloc

Hi Sir Jorge,
Here's my idea no. 1 for NU12.
Thanks,
Maria Carmina Tionloc
NU12: Idea No. 1Community: My neighborhoodFor Improvement: Parking Locations for CarsMy neighbors have numerous cars in their disposal and this causes many problems for households like mine who are oftentimes going in and out of the house. Our village has implemented this rule that all homeowners can park their cars at any place they like as long as 1) they don't block any drive way and 2) they park their cars properly.I do not agree with this resolution.I strongly believe that cars should only be parked on one side of the road to give ample room for all cars to pass through the road and at the same time, give ample space for the other households to do their business with ease. Having cars parked on both sides of the road can create havoc during the morning and night when most of us are leaving our houses for work and when we all arrive from work.I think it would be best if cars would be only allowed to park on one side of the road. This way, there would easier driving for all and at the same time, there is more space for people to drive on.I also believe that this should be implemented for strict compliance so that households with more than 2 cars can be more aware of their surroundings and be more considerate when parking their cars. I suggest that fines be implemented when the rules are not followed. This way, everyone would be mindful of the rules and at the same time, this makes the village orderly. 3.5
