Carnapping/ carjacking is very rampant now. Carnappers  either kill them or leave them with emotional distress. While police are doing their jobs to solve the case and arrest suspects it is important to take on precautions. I'd like to suggest to car manufacturers to install built in tracking system to cars especially those vehicles considered hot cars. This tracking system should be installed in car engines and once someone attempts to remove it, the car engine will not start. Only registered owners can authorize the car dealers to remove it. Not even mechanics can remove it as it uses a specialized machine and computerized system to access the tracker. The owners of these cars will be given a code to enter to their cellphones or laptops. Once an attempt to forcefully get the car is made, they will just have to press a button from their phones or laptops and the police stations or the National Bureau of Investigation will be alerted and can track location of the car.
This will lessen carnappings as police or authorities can easily track and make plans in stopping these carnappers.   (Pajero used to have such device but could not sell the Pajero - it is such a good innovation;  dont ask me why?)3

I am a mother of two children. My eldest is 9 years and the youngest is 1. I must say that television is a part of their growing years.  I am also aware of the danger that improper guidance especially in their viewing habits will have a negative impact on their formative years. While being a mother is a priority, I am a working mother and a student as well. I must admit that it is not 24 hours that I can look after their welfare. It would be a big help if an ultra smart television will be offered in the market. I envisioned it to have a camera and a sensor that will detect whoever is using or watching the television. If I register my elder daughter's face, it can allow her to watch only the channels that I programed for her to watch. If it detects my younger daughter's face, it will only show Disney junior or baby tv. I can also see how much time they spend on watching their favorite shows. That way I can monitor what and how long they watch. Not that I do not trust the yaya, but it will make me less worried knowing that I can see it from my own eyes rather than just depend on what the yaya will tell me. 4

My daughters and I without my husband and their yayas just recently went to Iloilo for the much needed vacation. The flight going there went smoothly as NAIA 2 opened 6 counters for passengers to check in. It didn't give me a hard time since I have with me my one-year-old daughter. What gave me a new idea is our flight going back. Our departure is supposedly at 6:25 am. We arrived at the arrived at around 4:45 am. I was surprised to see that only two counters were opened for a fully booked airline. What made things hard was that my one-year-old daughter went impatient because we were there on the line for 1 hour and 10 mins waiting for our check in. After us, there was still a long line waiting.  We were 30 mins delayed of our scheduled time.
I was thinking, instead of waiting for these check-in personnels to check our tickets  why not install a scanning machine in each check in counters. This way, manual inputs will be avoided making transactions fast and easy for the passengers. Tickets issued even through internet should be printed with a barcode. Upon check in, passenger will just scan the barcodes of their tickets. After this, boarding pass will automatically be printed. For passengers with baggages, a weighing scale should be installed near the entrance of the gate or once you enter the gate for the passengers to see if they are within the allowed baggage allowance. If they are they go directly to check in using the automated check in. Printer should print their boarding pass along with their baggage claim stub. An airport personnel will just be there to assist them. For those who exceed the allowed baggage allowance , they will just have to go to another automated counter where a check in personnel will have to assist  them in paying for their excess baggage.
This will make travelling more comfortable for passengers at the same time more economical for airlines as they will minimize delays which adds to their cost. 3 (there is on line check in even seat reservation for airphil and cebu pac, at Iloilo airport, there is such a device)

NU 12 Analiza G. Mendoza - bus automation

Buses here in Metro Manila still needs discipline. Accidents happen because of the carelessness of bus drivers who drives like they are the king of the road.
They stop anywhere and everywhere without giving consideration to other cars on the road. Even with implementation of penalties, little improvement can be seen which is still not enough.
I suggest that bus stops should be automated. Buses should be installed with a sensor that opens only in their designated bus stops. Otherwise, the door of the bus will not open in the middle of the street .They cannot just pick up passengers at any point they like. This will create disciple both to the driver and passenger. But in order to implement this, bus stops should be built not too far from each other.  This will also minimize if not prevent hold up inside the bus because hold uppers will have to wait for the bus' door to open in a bus stop before they can go down. 4 <there is such an invention made by a fmr student;  it won an award in UK;  it has not been implemented though>
