NU12 New Footwear, fancy boots by Campus Queen

NU 12
Fancy Boots
Campus Queen
MBAH 10B

I always want to travel light everytime I go somewhere. But not to the extent of  bringing only  2 pairs of shoes especially in cool places. Why not invent boots with adjustable heels? Make them flat for long walk and add heels for a fashionable stride. Make it light weight so it's like walking barefooted. The height of the boots is also adjustable by placing additional leather material with velcro --make it ankle length, just below the knee or knee high. More importantly, the material of this walking gear should be waterproof and embedded with antibacterial and anti-fungal properties so your feet will stay fresh all day long!

NU12 Campus Queen - iMenu

iMenu
by Campus Queen
MBAH 10B

Sometimes, when you go to restaurants, even in the fancy ones, your orders get mixed up.One order becomes two or the three orders become one or two. Other times, you are waiting for that particular order for almost an hour-- only to find out it was not placed in the kitchen! There are also times that waiters are not responsive enough to get your orders right away.

Why not provide an iPad or any tablet containing all the menu provided in the restaurant? This gadget is specific for a particular table. All you have to do is to tick a particular order in the menu, and put how many orders of that dish you want; you can also change it if you like. At the end of the orders, you will be asked again to review what you ticked and you need to confirm before you submit. The total amount will also appear on the screen. Once the submit button is sent, this will be then transmitted to the kitchen and the orders will be done right away. A timer will appear in the tablet to make sure that the order will come on time.< saw this in Seoul> 3

NU12 by Campus Queen - Vital Pen

Vital Pen
Campus Queen
MBAH 10B

A pen is a necessity for a medical staff like me (aside from a stethoscope and a mini iPad).

When you do your daily hospital rounds and outpatient clinics aside from the dialysis units, you would want to double check the vital signs done by your staff and explain some data to your patients and relatives with the least amount of effort.

Why not develop a pen that can get your heart rate by just holding it for a few seconds? On the opposite side of the pen's tip, you will find three buttons and a small LCD display. The first button is the thermal scan. By just pointing the pen few inches away from the patient's midforehead, you will get the temperature in seconds! One button is flashlight that can be used for examination of the oropharynx. Another button is a portable LCD projector where you can project your short lay lectures on the wall while you try to explain a particular disease entity.  4

Isn't that cool?

NU 12 by Campus Queen - Retractable Estribo

Retractable Estribo (Mechanical Stairs)
(Campus Queen)

Whenever I go to the hospital, I often find myself  in the middle of traffic jam. It's kinda hard seeing old people going up and down the jeepneys. There was one time when I saw an  old woman almost sustained an injury when she got off the jeepney because the vehicle had to move right away because the traffic light turned green. The steps or "estribo" are so steep especially the new big jeepney models.

And so I thought of  mechanical stairs. It is accordion type located just under the "estribo" and with just a lever controlled by the driver, the flexible stairs will open and additional steps will appear in an instant. This will definitely provide convenience to the passengers especially the old ones whose knees are already strained with age. 3.5

NU 12 by Campus queen - Satellite Umbrella

Satellite Umbrella
(Campus Queen)

Ever since I was diagnosed to have cutaneous lupus, hiding from the sun and bright lighting become a normal activity. I wear SPF 80-110 every day of my life. And I always wear my hooded jacket. But I don't bring umbrellas with me--thanks to my drivers, haha!!

But what if my drivers are not around? What if none of my friends bring their umbrellas?

This is why I thought of the Satellite Umbrella. It is an application in your own cellphone. Using the GPS, you can activate the Satellite umbrella anytime providing you a" normal shield" from the sun, just like using an umbrella. It can protect you while waiting for your car outside the house, watching a football game in the field, while doing brisk walking or jogging as long as the phone has Satellite Umbrella application.  3 (realistic ba ito Dra?

Cool!

NU 12 - Reserved Parking in a Mall? by Campus Queen

Parking Perfect
(Campus queen)

Good parking is always a challenge in malls, especially during Holidays and 3-day sales. It's those times that I wouldn't wanna go there. It's a nightmare.
What if the person in the pay parking area provides a definite parking slot for you, just like a reserved seat in the movie house? She will show you the diagram in the monitor and you'll get to choose where you want your car situated before getting inside the parking area. In this way, moving around looking for a vacant space is avoided and more time is spent for shopping :) <why not for valued clients> 3

NU 12 by Campus Queen - Wonder Mirror

Wonder Mirror
(Campus Queen)

It is always my dream to have a mirror that can change my mood or feelings. When you wake up in the morning or just before going to sleep, you want to have happy thoughts, or be in a relaxed state or may be just trying to goof around in front of the mirror.

The Wonder Mirror is a part of your hairdresser. This touch screen mirror has a built-in LED display of various themed borders to choose from. The borders may be Christmas, Valentine-themed, Hollywood, Sci-fi, beach mood, Cosplay, Victorian, Under the Sea, etc. There is also a wide range of music to match the moving themed borders!

Other functions of the Wonder Mirror include a built-in microphone and recorder--that's if you are in the mood to sing with the music. You can create your own video using different templates in the Wonder Mirror as well.

Now, if you want to go back to reality, just turn the Wonder Mirror off, and shift to television mode or computer display as this can also be used as such. 3

NU #1 MBAH by Campus Queen - virtual hospital chart

New Processes at Work
Pseudonym: Campus queen

I am a practicing internist-nephrologist. I do my rounds day in and day out. Aside from seeing patients in three dialysis centers everyday and out-patient clinics, I do my rounds for admitted patients in two different medical centers.
In the hospital, we usually write down our orders in the charts, and then the orders will be carried out by the nurses. The orders include laboratory tests and medications aside from the special instructions. This has always been the practice.
Just imagine if we can develop a software that includes all the data needed in the hospital chart- a virtual hospital chart(VHC). With the use of your own iPad, one tick at the laboratory exams needed for the patient will automatically be transmitted to the laboratory, and same the medications ordered linked to the pharmacy. And this can be done already while doing your rounds. Special orders to be carried out by the nurses will be seen in the monitors of their respective stations. Just like in the ordinary chart, vital signs, input and output monitoring as well as reminders and alerts will be seen in the VHC. Results of laboratory examinations and ancillary procedures will be available in your handy tablet! And you don't have to borrow a pen from the nurse if you forget to bring one whole doing the rounds!
An automatic display of drug interactions, reminders regarding length of use of an antibiotic and giving the right dose and frequency of medications will also be included in the application.
Access of the VHC can be done anywhere even in the comfort of your own home. Aside from being paperless, this will also minimize medication errors; this will facilitate faster ancillary procedure and medications will be prepared and given sooner. The checklist inside the virtual hospital chart will help the nurses double check if things are already done or given. Doctors will be updated of their patient's condition as well even if they are not in the hospital. 4
