I have noticed that they really give elderly or disabled people especial privileges like they don't have to fall in line in long queues and discounts which is really helpful. I would like to suggest for cars to have an option of having hydraulic ramp. The advantages of having an hydraulic ramp in car are: (1) more convenient for elderly or disabled people to ride the car (2) less stress and hustle for the elderly and disables companion since they don't have to carry them in and out of the car (3) elderly and disabled people can be more active in leaving houses go somewhere since they will have and easier way of transportation. The disadvantages are: (1) car will be more expensive (2) more gasoline consumption because of the hydraulic ramp (3) if the elderly or disabled person is left unsupervised in going in and out of the car it may cause accident (4) the car will need a bigger parking space, and (5) lesser seat space.<something like this also exist;  a 4x4 especially those with lift is a nono> Catherine Chua NU 12 #12 Automatic Nail Cutter For old nail cutter to function, a person needs to use his right hand to nail cut his left hand and vice-versa. For it to have a design (square or round shape) a person should know how to nail cut beautifully. What I want to improve is the nail cutter. I want a nail cutter like a pencil sharpener that can cut nails automatically. The nail cutter will cut the nails with design (square or round design). The nail cutter will look like a usual pencil sharpener. Aside from its blade the nail cutter will be made up of rubber for it to be flexible for any nail size. The person will just put the nail inside the rubber to be cut shorter with desired shape. The automatic nail cutter will cut the nails one by one, not all at once. The advantages of having automatic nail cutter are: (1) it will be more convenient to cut nails (2) can avoid wounds because it will fit perfectly (3) adjustable on required length of the nails. The disadvantages are: (1) in case it malfunction it may get stuck on the finger (2) it is more expensive (3) requires proper maintenance (4) it is not capable of removing dead skin (5) it is not multifunction, cant be use in cutting anything but nails. 4

Catherine Chua NU12 #9 Jeep with two floors One of the most creative transportation here in the Philippines is a jeep. Jeeps are also one of the most major transportation in Metro Manila. They say that jeep is our country's pride. One of the most common problems I see on a jeepneys are people tend to hang outside the jeep especially when the jeep is full. In rush hours, like 6am to 8am, people tend to compress themselves inside a jeep or for guys they hang at the back of the jeep. I suggest that jeeps should have a second floor to have more space for passengers. It is like a two floor bus in other countries. If the jeep will have a second floor, passengers will pay first when they enter the jeep. Aside from these, there should be a fix fare on every passenger to minimize cheating. There should be limitation for jeepney drivers, such as the kilometer limit drive which will be 60km per hour for the passenger to be safe. Here are the advantages of having a two floor jeep: (1) people will not hang outside the jeep, (2) passengers will be safe, because they will not hang outside just to ride to work, (3) jeeps on the road will be lesser, and (4) easier for LTO to monitor the operated jeep. The disadvantages of having a second floor jeep are: (1) bigger expenses for jeepney operator (2) more gasoline consumption (3) higher fare. 4 Catherine Chua NU 12 #10 Fax Machine with Sim Card Up until now fax machines are so reliable for business that does not have an internet connection. Aside from this fax machines minimize employees who will use internet for personal needs such as facebook and yahoo messenger. For us to use a fax machine, it should be connected to a telephone line. But one problem that I encountered is when I need to fax a purchase order or signed documents, telephone lines are shot down. In that case I will wait first to have a dial tone for me to be able to send a fax. Another thing I encounter is I cannot carry a fax machine anywhere because I will need a telephone line for me to use it. I propose fax machine to have a sim card. Fax machine should be like cell phones. It should have a sim card slot to put a network provider's sim card. Fax machine with sim card should have incoming and outgoing calls by any network providers, incoming and outgoing landline calls and fax. Aside from this fax machine with sim card can also send and receive fax without any telephone line, just the cellular network. The advantages of having a sim card slot to a fax machine are: (1) there is no need for a telephone line to use a fax machine, (2) easier and more reliable for business office (3) no need for internet connection that can be misuse by office workers (4) fax machine will be more portable because you can you use it anywhere. The disadvantages of having a fax machine with sim card are: (1) more expensive to buy for the user and (2) important documents faxed may be easily misplace. 4

Motorcycle Number Coding

MMDA said that there is an increase of motorcycle traveled in Metro Manila alone. Aside from these MMDA has done a motorcycle line to protect the motorist from cars and trucks. Since my truck driver has a motorcycle, I asked him if there is a number coding for motorcycle. He said there is none. I suggest that there should be a number coding for motorcycles. Like number coding for cars, number coding for motorcycles should also follow the number coding for cars. Motorcycles have four numbers in there plate number, for example MN8381. 1 and 2 will be coding for Monday, while 3 and 4 will be coding for Tuesday, and so on. Aside from these there should also be a grace window period for coding motorcycles, like 10am to 3pm. The following are the advantages of having a motorcycle coding: (1) motorcycle will be lessen on traffic hours, and (2) lesser accident for motor riders. The disadvantages of having a motorcycle coding are (1) motorist will complaint at first, and (2) more expenses for the motor riders.      3

In 2009, Metro Manila experienced a tremendous storm called "Ondoy". Most of Metro Manila area was flooded up to three floors high. Many people died from the wrath of "Ondoy" storm. Flood and rain are huge problem of MMDA but aside from it flying billboards and tarpaulins are also major problems that put people's life in danger. There are so many billboard and tarpaulin her in Metro Manila. Our problem is when there are storms, our government wants to dismantle all the billboard and tarpaulin temporally so that it would be safe. Currently, putting a billboard signs and change it can be done manually. These means we have three to four persons who set up or change all the billboard signs here in Metro Manila. The people will climb the empty billboard to set up. And when it rains or there are storms, the people will climb again to remove the billboard. The disadvantage of having people who will put up the billboard are (1) it is dangerous for the people who set up or remove the tarpaulin in the billboard, and (2) it consumes more time to set up or remove because it is done manually. I propose that all the billboard here in Metro Manila should be automatic. These means that the  tarpaulin in the billbroad should have a machine that pulls up and down, side to side. For example, the people will only set the tarpaulin in the billboard, and press the bottons that pulls up or down, and side to side. Even though there is a higher cost on putting up a machine in a billboard, the advantages on having a machine in a billboard are (1) no lives will be put to danger, (2) easier to set up and remove the tarpaulin, and (3) lesser time to set up and remove the tarpaulin. 4 < may be this will be expensive>

Fashionable Grade Sunglass

I started wearing eyeglass when I was in 3rd year high school. I was 13 years old by then. By that time the grade of my eyeglass was just 75 and 100. Now am 27 years old, the grade of my eyeglass is 350 and 375. I am an outgoing person. My friends and I are into extreme adventure. We like to experience trekking, rappelling, diving, etc. Since the grade of my eyeglass is so high, I have a hard time to do all our adventure, because I take off my eyeglass, and I can't see any small things or a person. Aside from this I have a hard time to see anything when I wear my sunglass. Since the grade of my eyes are 350 and 375, when I wear my eyeglass I cannot see anything. It's a blurred world for me.

When I buy sunglass I ask if there is an eyeglass that has a grade on it. All the stores answered "none". I suggest that manufacturers of sunglass make a sunglass with grade. To help persons who wear eyeglass manufacturer can also offer sunglass with grade. Currently if your wear eyeglass and wanted to wear a sunglass, the only possible way are wear a contact lens first then sunglass or wear a transition eyeglass. I ask stores the reason why manufacturer cannot put a grade on a sunglass, they said that it is because they cannot put grades on a curve lens. But putting grades on a sunglass is possible, because I saw a swimming goggles that has a grade on it. The sunglass with a grade should be only be personalize sunglass or by request of customers. The advantages of having a grade sunglass are: (1) I can see more clearly, I don't have to put a contact lens first before I wear my sunglass. (2) I don't have be dizzy wearing a transition eyeglass. Transition eyeglass changes when sun reflects on your lens, from clear eyeglass it becomes dark or tinted eyeglass. (3) Grade sunglass are more fashionable than transition eyeglass. 3

Now a days there are many buildings that are made of glass. Cleaning a glass outside the building is a hard task for a person. The current process of cleaning a glass outside a building are the following: (1) the person will assemble a scrap folding so that he can clean the glass or there will be a hanging glass machine cleaner with a person riding it. I suggest that in every glass in the building has a wiper outside. The wiper will automatically clean the glass outside the building. Aside from this there will be a small dispenser of water outside the glass building. The wiper and the water dispenser to clean the glass building outside is like in a windshield in a car. I also suggest that the angle or direction of the wiper will be downward not from side to side, because for decoration purposes and the direction of the dirt. The following are the advantages of having a wiper with water dispenser outside the glass building: (1) no more person who will clean outside, no more risky person who will fall at the top of the building, (2) they can always clean the glass, just one press of the button, and (3) less manpower expenses. The disadvantages of having an outside wiper in every glass building are: (1)time consuming to set up the machine for the wiper and water dispenser in every glass, (2) more expensive to set up, and (3) if it malfunction a person will fix every wiper or the machine that automate it. 4

Another innovation that the movie industry can do is to improve their seat. In a universal studio there is a new ride called "Transformer". In this ride the screen is in 3D and the seat moves in different direction. What the movie industry can do is to apply the ride like "Transformer" in the cinema. Currently the movie industry applies the 3D version in the movie. They can improve or innovate. Aside from the classic cinemas, we just seat and watch the movie, the movie industry can also have a cinema that has 3D version and the seat moves in any direction. This is like a theme park inside a mall. I suggest there is only a time lapse that the seats will move, not all the time duration of the movie.<with sync feature> 3

In a grocery store here in the Philippines, I notice that when the cashier shift with another cashier, she brings part of the cash register with the money to the office and count it. In other country, like cosmos in Taiwan, there is a cash vacuum in every counter. This way what the cashier does is to put their sales in a container and in the cash vacuum. This vacuum goes directly to the office and the office will count the cash.  Big grocery stores here in the Philippines can also apply this cash vacuum. The advantage of having this cash vacuum are the following: (1) cash will be easily monitor in every cashier, (2) no problem on shifting of cashiers, and (3) people cannot see the sales on every cash register in a grocery store. The disadvantage of this cash vacuum is if the cash container will be stuck inside the vacuum. Before shifting of cashier, she can put her sales in a container and put it in the cash vacuum. The container should be opened by the cashier with a staff in the office so that the check and balance will be applied.      3

As I notice when I grocery for our weekly consumables, some people take the grocery like walk in a park, but some people are in a hurry. These people have no time to waste or they will only buy two or three products in a grocery. The problem is those people who are in a hurry or new to the grocery store, has a hard time to find what they want to buy. I suggest that groceries can put a product finder machine. In the product finder machine the consumers can know where it is displayed, the size, and the price per size. Groceries can also put their promo in the product finder machine. They can also put alternative products or new products that they want to sell on the product finder machine. 3.5
