NU # 12 Invisible Heels for Men’s Shoes by Jane Labarrete

Invisible Heels for Men's Shoes

At the age of puberty a lot of men panic resolving their genetic inheritance or curse of resolving their height issues. A lot of men wanted to be tall as a sign of superiority. Society defines men to have more appeal and opportunities when they are taller and boosts their self esteem to go greater heights. So what's left for naturally small men? Who says heels can only be for women? This may sound so gay but the idea is to have invisible heels for men that will add up 2-3 inches to their height without even noticing it.  This will be a built-in heel inside the shoes of every men who have height problems. You elevate the shoes from the inside which is invisible from the outside. This will definitely resolve height inferiority issues of men. It will not only add up to their visual appeal but also to their self esteem without looking so gay.3

NU#10 Social Network Traffic Alert Geographical Positioning System

Social Network Traffic Alert Geographical Positioning System
GPS is such a great help because we all get directions from it especially for those who often get lost. However, given that even MMDA alert is a great partner with the installed GPS in cars because it gives us a hint of what the traffic feels from somewhere, it fails to give real time updates. The idea behind this dilemma is to develop a social network GPS traffic alert. It functions like facebook in term of social network function but focused on real time traffic updates. Once this is installed in your phone, it will give you directions which ideal path to take to veer from traffic. How? The application would detect if your car slows down and the application would directly ask you how heavy or light the traffic and directly alerts all members of this application real time. This will not just connect people but it creates a community helping one another and suggesting ideal routes to take.  So say bye-bye to false traffic update alerts and say hi to winning new network to enjoy real time traffic updates. 3 < I understand such apps exist, or some some cars have such a feature>

NU#9 Take Advantage of the Typhoons: Convert a Calamity Prone Area to your Advantage through Tidal Wave Energy by Jane Labarrete

Take Advantage of the Typhoons:  Convert a Calamity Prone Area to your Advantage through Tidal Wave Energy

From an Ondoy experience, I can't help but think how can typhoons that can be so damaging to be converted to our advantage. Typhoons can cause millions or even billions of pesos in damage. Buildings slide down hillsides; valleys flood; villages disappear under landslides and mud slides; roads and bridges are washed away; crops become waterlogged, or are blown over or uprooted, or covered in mud. So with all these mentioned, how can you avoid something inevitable? Top of the list would be Malabon, Batanes and Bicol who often experience and suffer during the typhoon and to put into record the depleting resource of geothermal energy in the Philippines according to EDC that why I believe it's time to explore other sources of clean energy and one of them is Tidal wave energy which is produced through the use of tidal energy generators. These large underwater turbines are placed in areas with high tidal movements, and are designed to capture the kinetic motion of the ebbing and surging of ocean tides in order to produce electricity. Tidal power has great potential for future power and electricity generation because of the massive size of the oceans.
Since typhoons are already stabled on some areas of the Philippines exploring this type of clean energy can be explored to take typhoons in our advantage. To add, this can also address shortage of energy in Mindanao. This will not only add a source and sustain the growing demands of electricity of Filipinos. It is just important to properly place and secure the equipments in sea beds to endure destructive typhoons. This idea can be costly but when implemented it can generate cheap cost of electricity. Just like in Economics, the more the supply the more the cost goes down. This can probably solve our long agony for rising prices of electricity in the country.4

NU#2 Metro Zipline and Air walk ways: Eco Friendly Solution for the Traffic in Metro Manila

Metro Zipline and Air walk ways: Eco Friendly Solution for the Traffic in Metro Manila

Traffic Jam a usual scenario in most areas in Metro Manila accompanied with polluted air that when you look up in the sky, it's possible to think that few years from now it will be all gray to black colors added to a growing population experiencing lung disease.  Who is not pissed off? Who doesn't want to easily accessed places that should only take you 10 minutes to get them but it causes you an hour? I thinking if the roads below are jam packed why not use are air space above?  I'm thinking of a metro zipline or air walkways that will enable people to go to different buildings and places with our using cars that emits harmful gases. This will maximize the space above rather plunge in and add more to traffic.  This zip line will connect places and buildings with several stops to particular land marks. Since the idea is aerial, this can be solar powered to decrease usage of electricity. Also, air walkways, can be of great use in connecting buildings in Ortigas and Makati, this will not just encourage less emission of gas but also improve health of citizens because it encourages people walk but also lessen expenditures of government supporting health care. 3.5 (or tarzan vines?)

NU #4: AFFORDABLE WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK EARLY FLOOD DETECTION SYSTEM -Jane Labarrete

What pisses you off at the neighborhood? What do you suggest?

AFFORDABLE WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK EARLY FLOOD DETECTION SYSTEM
It's frustrating every time it rains people are in the rush of relocating their cars, putting their things upstairs but the sad part is, usually they get stuck inside our village because of high flood waters and end up with all their possessions such as cars and other stuff drowning in water. Most residents are not aware which route to take or what best route to get out of the village that's why a WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK EARLY FLOOD DETECTION SYSTEM would be very helpful this system an affordable automated flood warning system that takes into account an array of challenges a good substitute for expensive flood systems but to further improve this it will be linked to an application in our smart phones reflecting passable routes to get outside the village. Also if incase there's a power failure that can disrupt operations, it is solar powered backup systems are in place at these sites in case the power grid fails. The system would also suggest alternative route to our homes and will notify us time to time to avoid cars floating in streets every time it rains. The MIT system consists of an automated sensor network running prediction software that measures and computes in real time in order to address changing conditions during a flood. This system is very helpful especially for evacuations definitely worth investing specially for in preparation for future calamities.
