NuIDEAS 2- Land Power
Here is my Second Idea:
The Philippines is one of the land-rich countries with basically a climate which is good for most crop growing and other plants. But did you we ever wonder why at this point, we are still lagging behind other neighbouring countries? Decades ago we are placing side by side with some SouthEast Asian countries like Indonesia and Vietnam but as time goes by so is the economic gap. With this, I would like to present my NuiDEA2:
Name : Land Power Program™
Details :
No land with more than 300 square meters will be left bare/unproductive for more than 6months (except those with submitted plans already-either commercial/construction)
Land owners will be encouraged to grow plants/high yielding vegetables/flowers and in turn they will tax incentives in real property taxes. (rate will be based on allowable level)
Discounted/Subsidized seedlings will be provided (either LGU/NGO) to be able to help farmers grow and earn.
These will contribute positively in the environment and will also help the low earning Filipinos something to ponder on. 3
There is such a law, not implemented. Good idea

NUIdea5- The Philippine Traveler
Most of us love to travel, in fact local tourists and foreigner amass in the country to discover wonderful places. The country offers many beautiful places that every traveler would enjoy. So why not serve them? MY idea is to have the "Philippine Traveler" as their partner in this adventure. Indeed it's more fun in the Philippines.
Name: The Philippine Traveler
Type: A customized bus wherein i will serve as a "hotel and transpo on the go"
Services: If there is a cruise ships explore the seas, the "The Philippine Traveler" will conquer land transportation that will make road trips more fun. The unit will be customized to serve the accommodation needs of tourist while at the same time traveling by land to all parts of the country. It will be made so as traveler will be comfortable as they travel. Imagine, a deluxe room, viewing deck, meal service, and other personal needs as tourist travel is all at their hands. Streetwise indeed . Trips would normally last from 3 days and up with complete travel program . (Mai ang dami typo errors) 4.
There are such buses abroad. Bustel? Why dont you start one. (my deluxe buses to the north na e and to the south)

NuIDEAS 4- Multi-Level Networking Farmer's Product
Here is my Fourth Idea:
It is fact that there are some abusive businessmen taking advantage of a farmer's produce- buying at lowest and yielding high margin in turn. This also makes farmers life miserable. To give them a fair play of trade, why not create a group wherein it will be known nationwide and will use the power of multi-level marketing to boost sales.
Name : (PilGinhawa) Pilipino Magsasaka-Maginhawa!
Details : A NGO will help organized a group and make it legal and protected in law. This group will consolidate farmers produce at market level and sell it directly to consumer through the use of distribution networks and Network Marketing.
: A difference organization (accredited) will handle the audit to ensure fair trade and being performed.
: Incentives such as Kabuhayan packages/Year supply of farm produce will be given to each successful member contributing in the growth of the group.
: Programs that will also alleviate farmers' (and family) lives will also be the 3.5

Here is my First NuIDEA:
Given the global warming effects, the country's economic ups and turns plus the ever increasing cost of necessities, we Filipinos are turning to relax ourselves from strolling in malls/parks, going to beaches (at least for minimal cost). Summer will soon start in the next few months and consequently we'll experience again the stress of El Niño which is one of the global warming effects. My NuIdea 1 is about something refereshing-a Pocket Aircon. We know for a fact the airconditioners require a lot of cash before an individual can have at least one. So why not revolutionized the air-con and bring it closer to the users? 3.5

NUIdea6- Adjustable house
With the recent natural calamities occurring in the world, many infrastructure are destroyed and livelihood affected. On of the most affected are the housed built/bought for a long time only to find out that it will be washed away/destroyed. My Idea is a house wherein it will be flexible enough to avoid or lessen impact of natural calamities- for floods (an movable house elevation) for storms- a protective layer of some sort of energies or structure that will lessen any impact of destruction. For earthquake- portable home wherein one can easilytransfer or adjust for any of these calamities. 3 (maraming errors; this one has 5 typo errors)

Nuidea7- Children Security Tags
There are a lot of instances where you will see parents looking for their lost child or relative. I suggest we consider having a person tagging system (uniquely tag to each person); any child lost in the crowd canl be identified through reading system that is widely available. You can also use this to search within the area through signals. Of course, this will need thorough implementation and security to avoid it being used for illegal activities 3 (embed chip)

Nu 6 - What Pisses You Off in the Neighborhood? AC - Armando Coloma Jr.
Our neighborhood is a group of subdivisions at the boundary of Sta. Rosa and Cabuyao. The subdivision where we live in was originally for Meralco employees. This connotes that it is not for the high society, and the facilities are ordinary. No stickers are required for any vehicle to enter. Anyone can enter and exit any subdivision in the area. There is even a pathway at the rear end of the adjacent subdivision where squatters use to have access in the neighborhood. These are the reasons why there are many incidences of robbery. This is one of the things that piss me off in the neighborhood.
Security is relatively low. There are many outsiders with free access. Bystanders at the entrance sometimes create scenes. Some suspected drug addicts throw stones and/bottles into the yard of random homeowners. Barangay tanods are present at night but only until 2:00am.
Also, some parts of the street are rough and it takes years before they get repaired. Some people blame our trucks for the damage.
Finally, the noise of some neighbors could not be controlled. To be able to control this, there should be a stricter reinforcement of laws, like in other countries where you can report them to the police and the police actually make them stop. The Filipino trait of holding grudges (pagtatanim ng sama ng loob) makes this more difficult.
Security should be tightened in order to lessen robberies and other crimes. Car stickers should be required for homeowners, while outsiders should have their ID left at the guardhouse to be granted entry. Fines should be imposed for violators to have funds for security and garbage collection. 3

NEW BUSINESS IDEA
Creation of Music Videos for Unsigned Bands
Many aspiring musicians want to become professionals and be famous, but the competition is just too stiff. Talent scouts maybe at the wrong place at the wrong time, making discovery difficult. Furthermore, many producers are hesitant to invest in newcomers. The social network, MySpace, was somehow designed to promote these aspiring artists, but is not very popular in the Philippines. Furthermore, it became way less popular when Facebook arrived. YouTube is one of the video websites that has survived and grew bigger and stronger during the changing times, and can be used to help promote these aspiring artists' music and talents.
To help these musicians get discovered and have their big break, I have thought of a small company that puts their talent on display through the YouTube and Facebook. To do this, this company should be able to help them secure intellectual property rights to avoid any unlawful claims of original compositions from other artists. Next, the company would create simple music videos of their songs. The price and quality of the videos depend on their budget, but knowing that they are unsigned bands, it is safe to assume that their budget is limited, so the price would be generally less expensive. The company would also require the band to post several live performances so that talent scouts could watch them at their convenient time, without actually having to travel to the gig spot. This will also allow the scouts and/or producers to assess the bands' live performance and compare it to recordings.
Posting their videos on YouTube would allow them and their friends to "share" through Facebook, thus helping them become popular. Ratings and comments in the social networks will also help in assessing the artists' potential. 3

RE: NU6 by MR, Various, GPS,
Hi Prof,
Below are my NU6 ideas:
1. GPS Navigation systems in public buses/jeeps
These will be used to keep track of:
a. speeding violations
b. pick-up and drop-off at correct stations
c. use of correct route
d. abandoned/overstaying vehicles
The navigation systems can be connected to celphones, laptops and other monitoring equipment.
Benefits to bus and jeepney owners/operators includes:
a. Keep track on the number of trips
b. Keeping track on the number of violations (per driver or bus)
c. Real-time notification for any violations
d. Locates abandoned or stolen vehicles
Benefits to traffic enforcers/MMDA:
a. Real-time notification
b. Streamlines the ticket issuance and payment (and frees up enforcers for other types of work)
a. It eliminates recording of violations on a piece of paper
b. Automatic/online ticket issuance to the operators/owners directly
c. Settlement can be done online as well through bank payment transfers
c. Locates abandoned or stolen vehicles
d. Using it also allows engines to be turned off if vehicle is deemed stolen or poses a threat to the general public or if violations are too many
e. Moreover, it will help instill discipline and order to the drivers and our traffic systems.
f. Removes the personal transactions such as ‘lagay’ and ‘palangis’
This is also useful for car insurance agencies as there is a log of actual date, speed and other information during claim and eliminates some investigation work at their end. 4 ( am involved with such a company)
2. TERMINAL FEES in airports to be added to the airfare tickets immediately to remove a separate queue at the airport when leaving for abroad.
Collection can be done by setting up an account where airlines and travel agencies can deposit the payments. The passport number can be used as the traceability number where the immigration database, at least the portion that is not confidential, can be linked to the airlines and travel agencies to ensure proper accounting. 3
3. Integrate the E-PASS of SLEX and E-TAG of NLEX so motorists can enjoy the benefits of auto-toll deduction either direction they go. If it can be done by the banking sector and telecom sector, the toll system which only employs the basic of arithmetic is easier to deal with. 3
4. Shoes/Sandals with variable heights
Three main components:
a. Basic flat shoes with slots at the soles for fitting the heels
b. Heels (which can be varying in height – best type is wedges), it should have a protrusion (or locking mechanism) that will fit exactly in the slot of the basic shoes
c. Cushions for the soles put on top after locking in the heels. 4
5. Imaging Techniques for Fast Foods/Cafeterias
Use of imaging techniques/softwares to automatically calculate amount of ordered foods rather than punching on a cash register one by one. A camera can be placed on top of a table and scan a tray for its content and automatically. The software can identify the food and automatically calculate the total amount of food ordered 4
6. Vertical Parking for motorcycles/bicycles for space constraint areas:
A hexagonal pole with slots (s) for the vehicle and a bar to keep the vehicle in place. 4

VARIABLE INSURANCE PREMIUM
Insurance premiums in the Philippines are calculated by certain percentages and are common/fixed regardless of the profile of the entity being insured.
In other countries like the U.S., individuals are assessed based on their risk levels ( first time availer pays higher premium than that of a person with previous availments and without accidents/claims).
It will be valuable if same principle can be applied here in the Philippines because you will be rewarding those people who operates safely (i.e. vehicle owners, factories, etc.) and at the same time penalizing those who are not.
This can be economically viable and at the same time promotes safety, health and environmental awareness to the society. 3

E-pass and Customer Service at SLEX
Going to work, I always passed by the SLEX. I am also an e-pass user which is under our company account. Last quarter of 2011, I have experienced unexpected queues in the e-pass lane, which is supposed to be not happening. This is because of the on-going testing by MATES (organization handling SLEX operations) on the e-pass readers. During these periods, there were frequent times when the reader can't sense the e-pass and the teller will then have to input the account number when this happens. I myself was not happy because the e-pass lane beats the purpose of convenience and faster way to pass through toll booths. I've read from the newspaper that SLEX is now looking into this situation and they are really experiencing technical problems with these readers. Their Malaysian 3rd party programmers are fixing the situation.
The above experience is just one. As of the moment, I haven't yet experienced the same; maybe the test had gone ok. But there are still those who pissed me in the e-pass lane: those motorists who have low-balances and yet they are still passing through the e-pass lane. It is okay if this would be the first time for the motorist to know that his balance is low but there are those who still pass by the lane without re-charging their tags. I happen to know this from a friend because he says that toll booth personnel will still let you pass but it creates delay because the toll booth operator near the e-pass lane will have to come out from his booth and press something at the keyboard to acknowledge the e-pass with low balance. What happens is that once the tag was re-loaded, all those fees that were transacted during the low balance or zero balance will be deducted from the amount re-loaded on the tag. I just hoped that SLEX management should improve this way of handling low and zero balance tags so that it does not become a routine for them and create inconvenience to fellow motorists.
Another improvement that I want to suggest is that the e-pass lane should also reflect the actual amount of toll fee when approaching a particular exit. In current situation, a "thank you" message appears when you pass by an e-pass lane. What if the reader was somehow defective and overcharged the motorist in that particular exit? This situation is not far from happening because machines are bound to fail or to make errors no matter how careful we are in maintaining these. This is one way of assuring consumers/motorists like that the appropriate amount is being charge, especially in my case in which I can report to our Logistics group should there be cases of overcharging.
I can't help but compare the customer service level between SLEX and NLEX. I have this one experience in NLEX wherein I got a flat tire when I was in Sta. Rita. I never saved that NLEX hotline number in my phone but because of its visibility in the expressway, I was able to memorize it and used to call it so that they can help me with my flat tire. The toll personnel were fast in responding, in less than 10 minutes, they were already starting to replace my flat tire. What is more delighting is that they also suggested a nearby vulcanizing shop and assisted me to get there. Knowing that I'm ready to go, I offered them 2 bags of breads but they declined. What they asked me is to email my feedback of their service to the address that they gave me. That's really superior customer service!!! There were also available telephone booths in case our cellphones had run out of batteries. In SLEX, I don't see it the way NLEX is doing things. I can't judge yet on how fast they could attend to motorists with flat tires because I haven't experience it there yet but what I noticed is there are no phone booths the same as those in NLEX. Hotline numbers are also not that visible. I see a hotline number but it is a cellphone line and very difficult to memorize. I think SLEX should also stick with a 4-digit hotline number. Of course in terms of the kilometer length between NLEX and SLEX, the phone booths and hotline numbers are still important to be installed in the SLEX, given the short distance say from Alabang to Calamba. Emergencies will happen and these are not anticipated. It is important that every expressway, no matter how long or short the travel distance, should have these basic emergency provisions. 3.5

Professor, Facility, Classroom and Site Coordinators Assessment in AGSB Satellite Schools
Same as on trainings conducted (in-house or external), an end of training or end of course assessment is also given to Professors/facilitators of AGSB. I view this not just a piece of paper but a way for AGSB management to gauge whether they are providing excellent academe services. In one satellite school that I am enrolled since 2010, I noticed that there are times when the site coordinator is not consistent in getting the student's assessment of the subject and the Professor. As I mentioned, this assessment should be viewed as an important input in order for AGSB to improve its services to students.
Of course nobody is perfect as the saying goes. But with AGSB as an academic institution, I could not get the idea that there are some basic services that are not properly carried out. A simple stock monitoring will address the issue of out-of-stock board markers, internet connection that is always down, unrepaired power outlets and unreplaced busted lights in the classroom.
To address these facility concerns, the end of course/subject assessment should include facility, classroom and office evaluation, including the site coordinators. It is not only the effectiveness of the Professors in the course that is solely evaluated but the support services as well. There is no doubt that AGSB really provides quality education but maintaining the quality of service and facility of satellite schools should also be aligned with AGSB's reputation.
To address the compliance of students in assessing the revised end of course/subject assessment, AGSB could do this on-line. The AGSB site administrator can post the assessment on each student's page and the student will answer the assessment online. To ensure compliance, the student may not be able to register and enroll on the next subject until he was able to complete the assessment. AGSB should also program the results generation automatically so there is no need to tally and compute the results manually. Aside from strictly imposing to students to answer the assessment, there could be savings in terms of paper and the students are given ample time to evaluate their Professors, the facility, classroom, office and site coordinators. Sometimes, the last session is also hectic and low priority is being given by students in answering the assessment. Or if they may answer, the AGSB might not be getting the true assessment, which becomes an input to gauging customer/student satisfaction. 4

1). Call and deliver: Grocery store – In Lipa City, Batangas, I have not seen any stores that customers may call to order grocery items then to home/office delivery. It would be convenient for customers if there would be such stores where they can call landline/mobile number or log on to their website where they can shop grocery items. The store will deliver their purchases right at their doorsteps. They can just set the minimum order and customers may prefer to use credit card through wireless credit card terminal. It would be a big help for those busy people that has no time to visit supermarket. 3
2) Improvement in SM supermarket - Most of the time especially during holidays, the lines in the payment counters in the supermarket are very long. As an improvement, it would be better if there would be waiting area like lounges (with chairs, TV or magazines). Shoppers will be given designated numbers while waiting. Their number will be called if it is their turn to pay already. In this way, customer especially senior citizens or those with kids will have a comfortable time waiting. 3
3) Drive thru – coffee shops – In Lipa City, there are 4 major coffee shops, Starbucks, Coffee bean, Figaro and Café de Lipa. As an improvement with their services, they can offer 'drive thru' service. Customers may opt to buy coffee or snacks through this service especially those customers who are in a hurry, does not want to leave their cars and when parking slots are full. This additional service adds value to their customers. 4
Thank you so much!

NU6 Idea 7 by PC AGSB LPC
For the first time after a long time, I took the bus going to Manila so I can catch my flight to Dumaguete that will fly out of NAIA Terminal 2. It was such a big hassle! I boarded the bus in Balagtas Terminal in Batangas City and got of in Magallanes. Of course there were a bunch of taxicabs waiting to take their prey. They were charging me 350 pesos to bring me to the airport! Since I was not willing to pay for such a sum of money, I hoisted the three big bags that I was bringing and walked up the overpass to go to the other side of Magallanes where there was more automobile traffic. The best deal I got was 200 pesos. Since I was already running late, I took the bait.
This got me thinking again (and airports/airport services are my favorite topics of late), why don't buses (both provincial and metro Manila lines) have a "Biyaheng Airport"? I think the general public will greatly benefit from the convenience that will be brought about by this. Of course the trips will be rationalized because it doesn't make sense to have Airport bound buses plying the roads by the hour. This is a great substitute for a train going ton the airport which is what most countries have (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia). And because buses are not available at all hours, people can plan to arrive in the airport earlier than usual which is great for airport-based businesses (restaurants, coffee shops, massage parlors) because people will spend longer times in NAIA, they are bound to get hungry, grow thirsty or become stressed while there hence they will head to the establishments around NAIA. Needless to say, the said establishments will have to be improved but this is another topic on its own.
The bus can be privately or government-operated - it doesn't really matter, as long as the convenience is there! Maybe as a dry run, the trips will just be inbound trips to the airport. If the scheme proves to be logistically manageable and financially feasible, the operator can then expand to include outbound trips to certain city centers (e.g. Ayala Avenue, San Miguel Avenue, Malate etc.).
Sent from my iPad
You are correct. How I wish that could be done. But there are buses that pass at EDSA that pass through NAIA 2 via MOA (it takes about an hour?) You could be a DOTC consultant on airports.

NU6 6_What pisses you off in the office by GG STR Reg
NU6 6th idea: What pisses you off in your office? What do you think must be done?
When you visit of engineering, accounting, purchasing, quality assurance and document control center sections in you office, you will most likely notice the blue binders stock in office cabinets, book shelves, on top or under the table of staff. Try visiting the quality assurance and document control center office and you see tons of documents file in folders, book binders. These documents are understandably needed as references and objective evidences which are required by the system. If you are an ISO certified company, it is a requirement that quality records be maintain for several years. Some requires 3 to 10 years retention period. Below is a sample photo of book cabinets and shelves where binders are filed, and this is just one section in your company. It becomes an eye sore to the employees and give bad impression to visitors and customers.
Engineering Office Document Control Center
I would like to propose a new way of storing document and cabinet in one specific location. Cabinets should be design such that it can be anchored to a railing. The railing will be use so the cabinets can be stack and move easily to access documents easily. It can save space and provide good impression to all employees and visitors. An illustration is shown below.
It can also be positioned horizontally with two rows of cabinets moving sideways depending on available space allocated. A good layout coupled with standardizing binders for all departments and systematic way of labeling will surely make a good impression to all employees. Of course necessary safety precautions should be in place in order to avoid people from getting pinned or caught in between cabinets. 3.5
NU6 4th Idea: New Product: New Laser scanner.
We are now at the last quarter of our 2011 fiscal year. It’s time we switch on our thinking hat and start brainstorming on what project we need to do to improve our operation. I’ve had a long discussion with our industrial engineering manager and discussed how he can improve his time in analyzing our company layout. Since we have been operating for 15 years, we need to create more space with minimal cost.
As part of the learning at this course, I started to ask him what pisses him off. The first thing he said was the time he consumed in measuring the layout of the machine in the floor area and encoding in his AutoCAD. For a 100 square meter floor area, an estimated time to complete the measurement and completing AutoCAD encoding would be finish within eight hours. And this is just the baseline data he need to start arranging the area to see the feasibility of a propose change in layout.
With the emerging technologies on laser and software, I told him that it would be better for IE and engineers to have a new laser scanner that can scan specific area and convert it using new software to become a three dimensional AutoCAD drawing. This would shorten their time to do measurement and encoding. The scan output would already give specific measurement of machine dimension, floor area, and distance between machines. The engineers would now have additional time to examine and provide recommendation faster than traditional way. Come to think of it, would a new camera provide a much faster time and have the same output instead of laser scanner. Hmmm….

New idea 1:Serendipity walk
Requirement: Walk on a busy street near your home, list down possible business that maybe started.
The subject street is located in Real Calamba City, just along busy National highway near Calamba Exit. It is a little over a kilo meter to Calamba crossing where you pass by Shoe Mart, Walter Mart supermarkets prior to such area.
. The subject area I walk through was just near the entry point of Light Industry and Science Park 2 (LISP2). Actually as illustrated, there are a number of establishments in this area such as across the Petron gas station, a Metro bank branch, the famous Tuding's Pork chop. Along the LISP gate are Honda motorcycle Sales, Parts, Service or a one stop shop establishment at the right fronting such entrance and at left side a newly established Grill/Restaurant plus one under construction establishment. Other nearby establishments is RSM Restaurant small canteens and Sari sari store.
Here are the different business ideas in the subject street or location.
Rationale behind business idea
|
Other reason
| |
Convenient store either seven eleven or mini stop type.
|
Target clients include the employees of locators, tricycle drivers, Petron customers (there is a small convenient store but it doesn't like it can cater to majority of customers
|
Other consideration include alternative to frequent traffic jams during rush hours.
|
Lending business establishment ( small scale)
|
Though there is Metro bank in the subject street it may be a good idea to
|
This could even reduce current practice of "ATM lending " by employees
|
Laundry Shop
|
Also to cater for employees who may drop by their prior to riding the LISP shuttle service.
|
Though there are two near SM it would be better that it is nearer the customers to avoid stop over
|
Manpower agency
|
Considering the number of companies in the nearby LISP such will prefer transacting closest to their sites
| |
Training Center
|
Bringing the manpower service provider closer to the clients

Chosen topic: What pisses you of at the mall?
There are few things that piss me off at malls but the most I am concerned is about security.
First is the inconsistency of security protocol starting from the parking experience. With due respect to Security agencies who are true to their jobs some are not .It seems they are inspecting but in reality they are doing for the sake of compliance and without really looking at the real purpose. You can't really see in the eyes of the security guards their full commitment.
Similarly, is true at the mall entrance proper, where still security protocol is performed with lack of passion. As we know there were several large mall incidents that had happened like shooting, robbery.
In a column written last year by Jon Carlos Rodriguez, abs-cbnNEWS.com entitled; "Loose firearms used in mall shooting incidents" (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/09/22/11/loose-firearms-used-mall-shooting-incidents) that was posted at 09/23/2011 2:48 AM and updated as of 09/23/2011 2:51 AM through ABS-CBN News ; police acknowledged there may have been gaps in implementation of security measures According to the report , Police acknowledged there may have been "Gaps in mall security" thus it was stated " The string of mall shootings prompted the Philippine National Police Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA) to discuss security measures with mall security heads and private security agencies. Further, a senior superintendent stated "They are implementing security measures, they have their security plan and they are providing security but such an incident happened." It was explained by the writer that "PNP- SOSIA regulates and oversees the organization, operation and business activities of Private Security Agencies, Private Detective Agencies, Company Guard Forces, Government Guard Units, Private Security Training Schools, security personnel and security training school staff. The article concluded with statement "Three shootings have occurred in an SM mall this year."
Simple ideas that maybe be implemented in such security inspection is putting some visual aids at mall entrance like inspection or frisking standard processes, with greater emphasis every time the garret scanner sensor hand held metal detector activates meaning there should be a special re-inspection process to follow. I said so as I remember there was an interview in TV of a security expert and he said one of the pitfalls of security inspection is even if the garret sensor activates during frisking, the security guards just rely on statement of customers stating reason such as usual gadgets and not search thoroughly the bag under inspection. They may post pictures of confiscated items. With this security guards and mall goers are both aligned on expectations with regards to security protocols.
Considering this random testing, I believe there should be a clear written policy on periodic implementation on the said random testing and not just do at times when there are such fatal incidents. 3

Chosen topic: What pisses you at the neighbourhood? What should be done?
Living within in a progressive community (barangay) at present with major business establishments seems a luxury compared with not so progressive barangays. However that is not the case for me. Though I currently live in a small compound of relatives I belong to such one of the highest earner barangays in the city of Calamba. This is primarily brought about by strategic location which is along National highway leading to SM, Walter Mart and Calamba Crossing not to mention Light Industry and Science Park 2. Also there are a number of establishments doing well in their line of business are located in our community.
However, high expectations don't always yield high results. One would be surprised that even in a street leading to a populated area; there is not a single street light. Traffic management is also an issue, tricycle mini terminals here and there that cause traffic jams in the very busy highway.
Although there are assigned barangay councillor for different issues there needs to be a specific a specific committee on general welfare that should overlook ease of traffic, safety of constituents. Such committee should be well monitored, funded and audited to make sure all necessary initiatives. The following specific functions of the committee to eliminate negative experiences in our neighbourhood are proposed
1. Deploy an ordinance disallowing mini tricycle terminals along highway.
2. Periodic inventory of street lights, strategic deployment or creation of these to streets that lead to populated areas. A visual control or street light mapping location against safety risk is necessary.
3. Finally this committee should also have a periodic public meeting with different area representative to collect necessary feedback for needed welfare and safety measures, report any progress as well of current or future plans. 3

New spending habits
Cash is King .This is what financial people and even highlighted by MANACC and FINMAN in their power point slide by our Financial Management Professor. You cannot improve cash if you don't measure should be battle cry" at home and not only in our companies. I started logging all my expenses from 2009 first to the nearest thousands and in 2011 the nearest tenths. Quite impractical to some but to me as a quality and continuous improvement personnel, small things count. Year on year I have a projected expense and gradually until this year it is clearer where does our (I and my wife's salary) go.
It is important that you set a goal in 2012 of your expenses. If you plan to cut down expense by 10%-20% to finally build your dream house, dream car this year aside from what you have now, like what I plan with God's will. You will likely have to pay certain amount of loan amortization, it is essential to list down projected fixed expenses.
There are fixed city services, tuition fees of children, company, salary loan, other amortization, telephone, mobile post paid plans, etc.). Variable expense but with minimal variation such as utilities (electricity, water, grocery). You may include recreation, sports habits such as fun run registration, golf games, etc.).
The beauty of this expense planning, tracking, review and next action let's you adjust month on month, are you over spending do you need to recalibrate your monthly expense, But wait you have to be wary of your receipts from time to time to record these immediately so you won't lose them even if they cost below a hundred pesos. In a year these accumulates to thousands.
Even if your spouse don't mind this try and he or she will be surprised you've saved much and you have a better cash flow standing like what I experienced. 3.5
What pisses you off (a little bit) at AGSB (Sta. Rosa)? What should be done?
Little things do count. Based on previous experiences with several classes of late, there are little things that I should say kind of piss-off not only me but other students alike in AGSB Sta. Rosa. Though, I strongly believe these could not be blamed on the responsibility of the site coordinator and the hardworking assistant, as we can see their dedication, commitment to perform their job function and especially looking after students' needs and wants in general.
The focus of this new idea is the little things that will ease up student's basic needs. I know these ideas will generally help not only the provincial campuses but even the main branch.
At each opportunity for improvement follows proposed ideas to solve such issues or at least minimize
1. Impactful:
1.1. Wi-Fi connectivity .Recently on line connection rather slow with even frequent connection cut especially during meetings, research conducted in the office, library.
What to do? Upgrade into a higher capacity, speed taking into consideration maximum enrolled number of students and not
1.2. Security
Classroom side entrance is without security personnel
What to do? Coordinate with tenant (GDC) to provide a security guard even within school hours to make sure students
2. Less impactful
2.1 Running out of consumables such as board markers at times.
Develop a minimum stock to order mini system for consumables with proper recording through checklist by coordinators or assistant.
2.2 Reference Books listings. Need to always ask coordinator when you intend to borrow.
What to do? Allot a desktop of summary of books available for easy checking once needed. 4
New idea #6 New product
Though this idea won't affect lives of many people, I still want to emphasize its importance as it may encourage every person's health consciousness and motivates s them to participate in life changing events in the near future. Oh and I remember this was also our group's theme in one of the requirements. So much for the introduction.
The idea originated from my first official 10km run last weekend. It was a particularly mixed emotion for me. First after 9 months of personal training, painful legs , almost quitting, I managed to continue and finally reached my goal of someday running a full 10KM official run, It was a personal milestone I'll cherish for life. I didn't even run an official 5K event and directly join 10K event. What pissed me off was when it's time to get the official time. I approached the committee and they said it will be posted in the event running partner website though I saw some are writing results in piece of paper. Patience came to play. The next day I searched type my bib number, name over and over again to no avail. I called the sales man number posted in their website and got a return call. I was instructed to send an email which I did and received a reply that they will investigate and there was a statement maybe due to interference the sensor did not work and said I may send anything, detail of who I crossed with etc.So I resent a compilation of pictures I took or asked someone to take from my mobile phone before, during and after the race. And finally I receive a reply via SMS of my official time (pretty decent for a first timer in 10K run) I personally thanked the sales man , he turned a negative experience into positive by working over time (holiday yesterday and today January 22-23 while I'm finalizing NU 6 requirements with this concluding new idea number 6 )

A new product I propose is running activity timer software powered machine with printing capability ready to printout actual result that every runner can take home including current rank upon reaching the finish line. Also if you don't want hard copy, a blue tooth capable that could easily transmit results as well after the race including a completer mini certificate. With such I believe it could help in promoting fun run all over the country, it can encourage more people to join in this important health enriching activity and not go through anxiety of official fun run first timers like me. And that's not really what matters, what matters is the end result, after all health is wealth and there's no amount of money can save you once it deteriorates. 4
