G D J of LPC Reg Presentation on Process Improvement was Great.

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

The group presentation (? it was GDJs preparation?) on cellphone remanufacture is something to benchmark because it contained all the elements necessary for a bpi (business process improvement)

l.  Outcomes:       cost reduction from $l20 to l05@.  It is quite hefty considering that the volume of     30t units per month.

output -  increase from 600 units in February  up to 30t this December

process time -  from 8000 secs to 5000 secs.   You could compute for increase in
                            productivity.

2.  Throughputs:

this was made by workers, bottoms up process

there was study of Value Added Activities vs. Non Value Added (Unneccessary and
                          Abnormal), VSM study.

3.  Inputs:    this is very strategic and entrepreneurial since very little resource (budget) was allocated to achieve this outstanding result.

We got great talents, even in electronics, and in manufacturing. Proud to be Pinoy.

Their only remaining bottleneck is the distance between their two plants:   the travel hamperss their processes still.

Congratulations to the remanufacturing plant of Gil and his boss.  They remanufacture at $l00 @ and sell at twice that amount.  So really, we must not accept some statements as a law.  So they say LCD is unrecovereable.  But look at what they can do to recover CP LCD, and at a very small cost.

This is a good lesson and process improvement on scalability, efficiency, bpi, and manufacturing technology.

Innovative Company Wants to Tap into the Pool of Foreign Talents and Entrepreneurs

The Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage .

An innovative company wants to tap into the pool of foreign inventors and entrepreneurs, by having a floating venue for them, off the coast of California to start their business, and get access to other resources in Silicon Valley.  Current immigration laws can frustrate efforts of foreigners to start a venture in USA.  This floating venue give foreign investors, and foreign graduates a chance to do their thing without violating current US immigration laws.

Really sound great and innovative.  What do you think?
