New ideas from Illac Diaz

Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship "New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."

Last night, I watched new ideas of Illac Diaz, a social entrepreneur, on how to preserve food and have lighting during typhoons and bad weather

1.  DIY ref - Pot ref made from two clay pots, one smaller and other bigger than the other.  The two are then sandwhiched with sand which are then wet with water.  A layer of cloth is placed in the inner pot where fruits and vegetable can be placed.  The pot ref can keep food fresh for 2 to 4 weeks.

2.   LIght diffuser.  -   Low intensity light can be directed towards  clear PET bottle and spread light over a larger area.

3.  Solar light with solar bottle lamp  -  A small solar panel charges a battery which charges a battery which powers a small led lamp that can be placed in 2.  A perfect solution in times of brown out.

4.   Emergency candles

What do you do if you run out candles.  Look for the crayons of your children.    And then light up one end, while placing the other end at glass or ceramic base.  The crayon is good for one hour.   If you have a box of crayon, it will last you for 2 days.

Other Illac Diaz ideas:
