Going to US or to Middle East? or Focus on Domestic Market.

"Innovate or DIE"

Late the lst semester, a former student whose business is meat processing asked help regarding their proposed project to buy a plant in the US with the end in view of: l. selling to US market (Southern California) and sell to the rest of the world (the fmd situation prevents RP from exporting to Europe)

While the initial market study was made, the heat for the project died down. Later on I found out that their inputs are imported meat and therefore not fmd contaminated.

Later on, her interest shifted to serving the Moslem market with Halal certified products. And she found out that she has marketers and outlets for these in the Middle East. I found out too that another group is handling the US expansion.

Late July, there was this debt limit law crisis in the USA and the debt downgrade by credit rating agencies. And the lingering unemployment in USA.

What do you think is the future for her company? What must she do/plan?
