Part of $500 million Clean Technology Fund for E trikes? Green peace unimpressed
Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship
"New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."
From Business Inquirer 2012
The govt (DOE) is set to tap $l00 million from the $500 million CTF fund for 20,000 e trikes to lessen dependence on fuel fossil (gasoline fuel) of tricycles. The 500 million has been funded from $300 million from ADB, $l00 million from the Clean Technology Fund (intl) and $l00 million from the govt counterpart.
So why is Green Peace unimpressed?
Anna Abad of Greenpeace, an International Organization is unimpressed. While gasoline consumption will be reduced, the recharging of batteries will still tap on electric grid which is largely run by coal power, not a clean air technology. Funding tricycles is seen as a political gimmicry rather than a sincere effort to use clean tech.
What do you think?
I am not impressed too. A waste of money.
