NU IDEA#6 - What pissess you off at AGSB? by RJ
I consider AGSB as one of the best schools that I went to. The facilities are great as well as the professors in each course and subject. But there are some points that do not really pisses me off, but I think could be improved for the benefit of the students.
1. Library. The school library is great as it has a lot of reference books and materials to choose from not to mention the facilities that the students can use. But I would suggest that a closed room be included in the library where students could freely use in their group activities such as brainstorming, discussions, assignments and reports. This would be very helpful for the students since books and other reference materials are readily available as they discuss and perform their group activities without disturbing other students in the library.
Currently, the school has allocated a study area for students located in the second floor, but if they would need to use books and other materials from the library, they would need to go back and forth from the library to the second floor. By constructing a closed room in the library, the students could maximize their time doing their group activities and assignments since the books and reference materials needed are located near their spot.
2. Security. Since robbers and thieves are very rampant in our society nowadays, I would suggest that the security of the school be tighten more. Currently, the school is using an identification scanner only in the library to check if the student entering the library is currently enrolled for the term. On the other hand, at the main entrances, the guard-on-duty only checks if the person entering the school wears an Ateneo identification card and have no way of checking if the person is really a bonafide student or alumni of the school. I would suggest that a similar scanner situated in the library should also be placed at the school entrances since IDs nowadays could easily be copied and duplicated. In this way, the school would be able to guarantee the security of the students who, most of the time, leave their belongings inside the room during breaks.
