NU # 7 (revised)
Unified prepaid card for all public utility vehicles and new method of loading
Aren't we tired of paying manually? Going to counters/windows are so time consuming and efforts are just wasted. This is the reason why we move slowly as a nation and so much time put into waste instead of making it productive. Most of us commute with public utility vehicles such as trains, busses, jeepneys and taxis and others. Isn't convenient, fun and efficient if we pay electronically? Telecommunication companies and PUV operators tried electronically paying process such as GPASS of MRT and so forth which was unsuccessful simply because it is not unified, multi-purpose and easy. Filipino by nature is traditional and resists change but can be easily educated.
As an entrepreneur, I am thinking objectively to change the existing process and make it more fun and easy using the unified prepaid card for all public utility vehicles. It can be use to trains, busses and all other public transportation so avoid delay, long lines and manual paying. The government must support and promote the unified system so commuters will be educated. It is like saying "it is more fun commuting in the Philippines."
Before a passenger comes in, he/she must swipe the card in the card reader to get in. Balance can be check using the internet or thru SMS. Load can be bought on the website and loading counters in the mode of credit cards and cash. On-line buying of load is available as well as SMS buying thru text with minimal service provider charges.
As for security purposes, the device or unified prepaid cards can also be transferable using via web or text. Load can be shared as you wish. It can also be blocked by the owner in case of theft using web by logging in your personal account or texting the command. Then the load can be transferred to a new card or other user.
When loading, the unified prepaid card has partnered with credit card companies, local and international banks and local merchants so loading will be convenient and easy to all types of users. It can be over-the-counter at local stations, online, and other merchants.4
