Subject: NU12#11 - What pisses you off at your business site? by Rhea Jardin

Our office is located at the 20th floor of The Peak Building in Salcedo Village, Makati. The building has 22 commercial and 35 residential floors situated at opposite sides of the building. When the country began with the call center industry and became the call center capital of the world, our office building became one of the cribs of the call center industry. About six (6) floors where occupied by different call center companies with 24-hour operation and each company have a huge number of agents. With this, the elevators in our building are always congested by call center agents, some of which are very loud and annoying that pisses some of the tenants in the building. In worst cases when one (1) of the three (3) elevators is down, you will need to wait for two (2) round trips on the elevator before you  can have the chance to ride on it.
To solve this problem I would suggest that, with the huge number of employees that they have, call center companies should be allocated a business space on the ground floor or on the first few floors of a building structure. In this way, they would seldom need to ride the elevator in going to their respective offices and would lessen the congestion that they cause on elevators. It would also improve their health and wellness if they use the stairs to climb 2 or 3 floors since most of them are confined to their posts the whole time and some are even heavy smokers. 4
