NU 12 by Anthony Pantoja - smart shopping cart
Hi Sir Jorge,
This is my NU idea for the week:
It pisses me off when I have to line up in the grocery to pay. It takes so long before all the items could be scanned by the cashier and process the payment. Nowadays, we live in a fast-paced society where everything is instant. With this, I propose that we develop a smart grocery cart where it automatically scans the items when you place them inside the cart. If in case the shopper decides not to buy the item anymore, all he/she needs to do is to remove it from the cart and it will automatically deduct it from the total. There is a screen where the shopper can see what he/she has bought already and compare it to a list that has been pre-uploaded to the cart's computer application for a more efficient shopping. By the time the shopper goes to the check out counter, all the cashier needs to do is scan the total in the cart then the customer pays.
Also this cart will have pre-arranged eco-friendly bags where the shopper can put the items that were bought. As soon as the cashier scans the total in the cart, the shopper pays, the cashier processes the payment, hands out the receipt to the shopper. The shopper can now wheel out of the grocery with the goods he/she bought. There is no need to wait for the bagger to place all the items in a bag. This will save time for the shopper and save on labor cost for the grocery. 4
Thanks.
