NU# 5 ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT AT AGSB?

NU# 5  ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT AT AGSB?

AGSB is one of the best schools in the country although I think there's still room for improvement.

Parking.  Why not make parking free?  Anyways, students patronized the school and paid tuition already.  Or, why not incorporate parking fees during enrollment?  Better yet, why not incorporate in the ID a  sensor that will automatically open the horizontal entry barrier?  This will enhance security because only those who are connected with AGSB will have access to the parking slots.  We will likewise no longer have to look for change every time.

IDsWe know that these are for identification purposes but why penalize students when they forget the ID?  Why not use biometrics like finger print scanners as back-up for the ID?  The biometrics can also serve as additional security measure.

Online Payments.  I know we register online but we have to go to the cashier to make payments.  When we do not register online, we are asked to do so before we can pay the tuition.  What about accepting major credit cards like Visa and Mastercard and having online payments so we do not have to go to school till it's the first day of class?

Class cardsWhy not provide our professors with the details we are filling up in the class cards?  We have already given all the data when we enrolled in AGSB, including our picture.  This way, we save on paper and time.  That will also give the professor an idea of what kind of class he or she is to handle even before the professor meets with the class.

ScheduleAnother thing that bothers me is the schedule for the term.  Can AGSB provide at least the schedule for the present term and the next ahead of time, preferably at the same time they give the schedule of the present term so we can schedule vacation or other activities during the break?  Flights and travel packages are cheaper if purchased months in advance *:) happy I really do not want to miss any class because I want to learn.  Besides, tuition in AGSB is not cheap.

Possible electives with their description and schedules.  I think MBAH students will be grateful if all possible electives (with their description, professor, venue, and schedules) are posted online and we can see real time how many are already enrolled in that subject.  This will help us to select an elective we really need and want.  We will also have an idea if the class we enrolled in will push through or not since there's a minimum number of students needed for a class to materialize.  If in case we see that there are only a few enrollees, then we have time to think about our other options.

Entrepreneurship as core curriculum?  Before we had this subject as elective, most of us heard that it's "toxic" because there are a lot of assignments which will make it quite difficult for us because we also work on weekdays.  Yes, that's true but if it's the only way to push people like me to be innovative and have finance and business acumen, I think it should be one of MBAH core curriculum.  Why?  Honestly, I think most of us doctors were taught service and not money matters during our several years of medical training.  We also want comfortable lives but not to the expense of the patients we serve.  So, in order to avoid such temptation, I think it would be best to know and be good at being an entrepreneur also.

Gym.  I wish AGSB can have a gym where students can unwind.  Besides, a sound mind needs a healthy body!

Food.  To have a healthy body, we need nourishment!  Well, AGSB is very near Powerplant mall but it is more convenient if our canteen serves a wider variety of food.

Observance of December 8.  I am surprised why AGSB, a Jesuit institution, is not observing the Feast of the Immaculate Conception just like the Loyola Campus.  Yes, there were Masses but maybe I just got used to the holiday every time this holy day is observed.    I really think this is what differentiates Ateneans from the rest.  We have a special place for Mother Mary in our hearts.< great but I do not the author?>
