NU12 by Andrew Chua – #3 Kitchen TV for Restaurant Customers

Aside from food and service, cleanliness is one of the key success factors of restaurants.  We know that most restaurant owners are taking extra steps in ensuring cleanliness in their stores; such as regular cleaning of the different areas, using different towel colors to clean different areas, using hairnets, using facemasks, etc.  But even thought how clean the stores are, we know that they can't take away from the minds of the customers the possibility of food contamination.  To ensure complete monitoring of food cleanliness for the customers; I think restaurants should have CCTV's especially in their kitchens, with a TV in the dining hall for customers to see.  The effects to the following will be:
For crews:
·         - They will no longer pickup and serve food accidentally dropped on the floor.
·         - They will no longer intentionally dirty the food of the customers they are angry with.
For Customers:
·         - They will be ensured the kitchen is clean, and without pests.
·        -  They will be able to appreciate the preparation of their clean food.
   - They will be able to freely complain to the store manager without the fear of getting their food intentionally contaminated.
For Owners:
·        - They will enjoy more profits since customers will be happier with the stores' cleanliness.
·         - They will be able to receive more feedbacks that will help them improve their business.
Aside from cleanliness, other benefits like security and compliance to other policies will be gained from installation of CCTV's. And lastly, the kitchen TV is more practical than converting their kitchen to open kitchens. 4
