NU12 (9)-Extra-comfortable bus
We are used to travel via airplane, ship, private vehicles, old trains and buses. Those who can afford to buy airline tickets and who are saving time, opt to ride a plane. Those who are in tight budget opt to sail on ship, ride a train or a bus, and ride a plane also (if there is a promo fare discount) to go to their respective provinces for family reunion or just to have a vacation. In our country, as we take a long car drive or a bus to travel, along the road we can see beautiful scenery of rice fields, mountains, trees, bodies of water and provincial lifestyle. It is nice to see all of these, because it makes us more excited to immediately reach the place/province to have a vacation. But, will it be nicer to experience this view of nature while having a relaxing ride? If in Europe they allot funds to invest on a luxury train to travel from one country to another, here in the Philippines, maybe we could only have an Extra-Comfortable Bus.
The Extra-comfortable bus I have in mind can have the following:
- the two lanes for sitting would be a 2-seater reclining couch (but it can be independently reclined) <available for Bicol bound buses and for Northern Luzon deluxe buses>
- wide aisle
- fully air-conditioned
- GPS, Wi-fi, tablets (to be used as monitor for viewing movies, for surfing the net or just simply playing games), headsets, and a reading lamp are installed
- security camera
- phones to call the hotline in case there will be an emergency
- food and drinks will be served, snack and meal; coffee, milk, tea, juice, water, shakes
- small play room for kids
- place for souvenir and native food of the province to be visited
- there will be servers and crew who will accommodate our needs excellently
- clean rest rooms, complete with tissue, lotion, powder, napkins, soap, sanitizer
- another feature of the bus is that it can also be decorated with Filipino culture inspired theme, depending on the province.
-space for the Persons with disability (PWD)
Rates would be double of the normal bus going to Bicol Region or Ilocos Province. Say, it's Php 800 to Php 900 for the common air-conditioned bus but for this extra-comfortable bus would cost Php 2,000 to Php 2,500 for a ride. By having this kind of bus, we can promote tourism by encouraging foreign tourist to take this ride because they will truly appreciate our country and our culture while viewing scenic places along the road. 3
