Jaguar and Lincoln dealership now sells EV (Made in China) in California

Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship "New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."

From Intuit small business blog

Ramon Alvarez, through Alvarez Electric started selling EV (electric vehicles ) in California.  The vehicles are from China manufactured by Luzhou Wuling.  They sell Eco Truck, Eco Van, and Eco Commuter and price range from $10,000 to 18,000.  (There is another Alvarez in PHL who sells cars and buses;  and even runs bus company)

Alvarez runs the Jaguar and Lincoln dealership in California and changing conditions (competition, green innovation/consciousness, high gas prices) saw their sales drop from l00 units to only 60 a month.   While his employees responded for call to work harder, he had to innovate to arrest the declining sales. He has been selling cars for the last 30 years. (In California, you need car.) He has to develop new strategies to serve the changing car market.

It took him three years to prepare:   line up financing, establish the infrastructure, meet the stringent regulations.  Wuling, their supplier, has been in business for 52 years and has quite an experience in manufacturing, efficient, low speed EVs

Survey shows that 57% of the new car buyer will consider buying an electric vehicle and that represents a growing big opportunity for Alvarez Electric/electric vehicles

Alvarez plans to open new outlets in Glendale and Riverside.
