Here's Your Front-Row Seat to the Year's
By LOUIS BASENESE, Chief Investment Strategist Top Technology Show
Hottest. Coolest. Most innovative. The superlatives keep flying from Las Vegas like F-bombs in a Sopranos episode.
I'm talking about the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) - one of the largest and longest-running tech trade shows. Every technophile (be they legit or wannabe!) is buzzing around the gambling capital of the United States to place their bets on the next hot technology that will take over the world. This year, the task is more daunting than ever, too. A record number of exhibitors and products are on display - 3,000 exhibits and 20,000 new products, covering over 1.85 million square feet of floor space, to be exact. How do we know all this? Because we've got Wall Street Daily boots on the ground. We sent two of our prized analysts out to the show on Monday. And they had strict marching orders: Forget about what's cool, hot, or even the newest, under-the-radar technology. Instead, find the most investable technologies. Why?
Too often, "cool" technologies get stuck in the lab for years before ever making it into commercial applications. Others never even see the light of the free market. In turn, profiting from what's simply cool can prove elusive, or worse... impossible. On the other hand, uncovering the world's most investable technologies - ones on the cusp of going mainstream - is a road paved with the most handsome profits. And that's all we care about at the end of the day. So will it be the OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) televisions being hyped by Samsung (BC94) and Panasonic (PC)? Or the driverless cars from Toyota (TM) and Audi (NSU)? Or how about 3-D printing companies, which seem to be popping up everywhere? Well, you'll have to wait until Monday to find out. That's when we plan to make an extremely important announcement, as well as share our list of the Top Seven Most Investable Technologies for 2013. Don't be bummed, though. Because in the meantime, we're giving you a sneak peak at some of the candidates. We filmed this video ourselves at the conference. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the front-row seat to the action on the ground at this year's CES. Remember, on Monday morning we're going live with our Top Seven Most Investable Technologies for 2013. Be sure to keep an eye on your inbox. It could be the single most important profit-making column we publish all year. Ahead of the tape, Louis Basenese
