Introducing - the E-Grocery
What is needed: Mobile Phone/Laptop/Ipad or any device that can connect to the internet and a reliable internet connection
How does it work:
1. Any person with the means of connecting to the internet (via mobile phone, tablets or laptops) can buy their groceries online. Each product that can be found in a real grocery can be found in the e-grocery website and the customer can easily choose from a wide range of products that they need. They just simply input the number of products they want (ie: 2 shampoos or 2 bottles of ketchup) then after completing their orders, they can check out.
2. Payment method would be either be cash on delivery or like a postpaid account wherein each customer has an account with the E-Grocery then monthly billings would be sent to the delivery address.
3. After completing the orders, the system would then send the orders to a warehouse wherein employees would select the orders and delivery it to the delivery address stated by the customer.
4. After making the delivery, the customer will receive a text message stating that the groceries have been delivered to the delivery address stated and the message will also contain the name of person who received the groceries.
Unique Selling Proposition:
1. Not only is this idea a good unique selling proposition in itself, the E-Grocery can also make a history of all the customer's purchases. The customer can easily just tick a box stating "My Usual Monthly Orders". The customer will first indicate what he needs usually on a monthly basis. This will enable the system to be more efficient and to be more interface friendly for the client who does not want the fuss of going over the whole entire list of products that he can buy.
2. E-Grocery can also provide financial reports to the clients. For example - Monthly Expense Reports, Statement of Accounts and even the quantities of all products that they have bought in a month.
3. E-Grocery can also provide a billing scheme like the ones used by the utility companies or credit card companies. The customers will have until a certain date to pay their dues.
Workers and Supplies Needed:
1. For beginners, a small warehouse or storage area where we can keep the basic grocery items that is most needed.
2. A small delivery van
3. Delivery person
4. Storage Keeper
5. IT person
6. Overall Supervisor
Overall, this can be a great trend in the Philippines considering that Filipinos enjoy doing groceries. And considering the hassle of long lines, traffic, and the only means of payment in groceries (cash or credit card), this is a good setup for those who want an easy, quick, and reliable way of doing groceries. 3
