Filipino staple food in the morning is obviously hot pandesal and coffee. So, it comes as no surprise my disappointment that for some reason, all four (4) nearby bakeries in our area where we buy the breakfast bread all closed-shop. So we had no where to buy fresh, hot pandesal every morning. We had to buy pandesal from farther stores the day before, but by the time we have it for breakfast, it isn’t fresh anymore.

I guess these bakeries closed-shop for a common reason: “na-lugi.” And most probably, it’s because of weak sales. But everybody eats pandesal every day, so how come they lost in the business? There must be a better way to capture the pandesal-lover market rather than waiting for them to buy the pandesal in the bakery.
Then I remembered our group report for our micro-enterprise. Our topic was Pandesal delivery, where we would set up a pandesal bakery with no physical store outlet. We would just contract with partners who will peddle in bicycles the pandesal every morning.
But I would like to take the concept further. Instead of just peddling the pandesal, maybe we can already survey the neighborhood for those who want pandesal regularly delivered. They can pay either on a daily basis (pre-paid) or every 15 days (post-paid). This way we can maintain a steady customer base, and project daily demands easier.
