NU12 #4 – New Processes at Work, Study – Lea Olegario
Previously, we did not log time in the office except for the usual time in and time out. There is no way to check how the hours of the employees are utilized, and which tasks take a lot of time to do. There is no measure on productivity and efficiency.
Our company then rolled out the use of Clarity in the office which is the same system used by all other related companies to monitor the employees’ time. There are tasks assigned to each resource on which they can log their hours as they use them. There are general categories and it will include work tasks as well as other tasks for timekeeping such as VL, OB, etc. Reports are easily generated from the software and it can be generated per task or per resource.
This software is also used to connect to other tasks from other company divisions. This is very useful as we have people who get to be assigned in other divisions and they can easily be assigned the task and they no longer have to learn new timekeeping software.
Each employee should accomplish the timesheets weekly and log their hours according to how they have spent it. It provides the employee to be watchful of the time and identify possible areas of improvement. Their Resource Managers would then review and approve the timesheets making their work visible to their managers. It provides another way of checking and letting the managers know what is taking the time of the resource.
This new process and additional software is a big help in increasing the resource productivity and provides a way to measure personal and company Key Performance Indicators.
