NU12- New Processes at Work, Study – Joseph Cunanan

Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship "New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."

I have been taking up my master’s degree for quite some time now and I must say that it’s not that
easy. Considering the fact that I’m also working and handle a very demanding role in the office which is
Operations Management, there are times that I feel like I lack time to focus on my curricular activities.
There are also occasions when I feel like I’m not learning that much because I rely solely on what the
professor teaches inside the four corners of the classroom.

Here are the new study habits I wish to develop as I continue to fulfil my MBA degree:

- Allot Sunday as a family day at the same time – study day. Instead of me going out to the gym
on Sundays, I’ll just spend time with family at home, and allot at least 4 hours to complete my
homework & reading materials.
- Read. Aside from just relying solely on my professor’s lecture, I think it’s best for me to read
other reference materials that will help me enhance my knowledge. It is true that as an MBA
student, most of the learning and discovery must be initiated by me. So to fuel this, I need to
do the extra mile of reading reference materials that will help me gain more and feel more
about each subject.
- Build Connections. Personality wise, I’m the type of person who is timid and shy. I think I
should change that right now. I need to go out there, mingle with my classmates. Learn from
their experiences in different fields and most of all build my network. I think if I decide to start
up my own business, I will be able to tap the right people since I have created my own source
of network.

Listed above are the things I wish to change to make my MBA studies more meaningful and worthwhile.
I apologize if it took me a while to realize this, but I believe that a change is still not too late.
