NU 12- New Attitude or Paradigm - Joseph Cunanan
Ateneo Innovation and Entrepreneurship
"New ideas create more and better new products and services; create more wealth."
As 2013 starts anew, I tried to reflect on the things that happened in my life and list down that one
attitude that I wish to demonstrate purposively as I move on.
1999- 2003 – Finished my BS Psychology degree from PLM as a Cum Laude. This was my preparation for
the real world.
2004-2009 – I’ve worked as a CSR and eventually become a supervisor in a solution contact center. I’ve
met inspiring and great people. Learned skills set which made a portion of what I am today.
Feb 2010 – Moved to JPMorgan Chase as a supervisor for professional growth. I’ve worked with new
people, new process & a totally different type of industry which is banking. I’ve learned new skills set as
expected.
Nov 2010- Enrolled for MBA program. Again, I’ve met new and inspiring people. I became a student one
more time, BUT this time being able to apply what I’m learning from school and the actual work place.
Recitations, home works, group activities, papers, are part of my world again.
Feb 2011 – Promoted as an Operations Manager in JPM Chase. This is a turning point in my life.
Earned more. Moved out from my parents and get my own place. I’ve lived independently, faced new
challenges in my professional career. It’s a totally new set of expectations from family, peers and close
friends.
Now- Engaged with my fiancé; Expecting to earn my MBA degree in August 2013. Hoping for another
promotion in the next year or two. Soon to build my own family.
Looking at all the things that happened in my life, I must say that I am really blessed and there are so
many things to thank for. If there’s one thing that I’d like to change in my life right now is the way I put
God as the center of it. This may sound cheesy to some, but I mean it.
In life, we tend to be overwhelmed by the things that happen to us or the people that we meet along,
or the series of events that change the way we look at things, but one thing is for sure - all these happen
for a reason. I wish to take and live life as it is and all that goes with it, put God’s name in everything
that I do and I know that everything else will follow. I want to be more prayerful to build that stronger
connection with God, which I think I failed to do consistently in my past life.
I want to experience his existence more than anything else in my life. This is my new paradigm and
attitude for 2013 moving forward.<No grade>
